Strength and Stability 1.2 Understanding the strength and stability of a structure. At the end of this lesson, pupils will Teaching and Learning Strategies Pre-requisite Knowledge Identify shapes of objects that are stable. Identify the factors that affect stability of objects. Explain how base area affects stability Explain how height affects stability.

Use of technology, Discussion Pupils have learnt about some basic shapes such as cube, cuboid, sphere, cone, pyramid and cylinder. They are also familiar with some of these shapes in everyday life.
