We are looking for a UX Designer for Bing (Microsoft India), who knows the difference between GOOD and GREAT designs; someone who is able to work with ALL disciplines while driving design directions from conceptual development through final implementation. This is an exceptional opportunity for the right person to make an immediate difference to the next release of Bing. What you will be working on? The Bing UX team will be breaking new ground this year. Well be combining services, web and rich client code to bring web search in all its forms across devices. Making these experiences useful, engaging and beautiful will require a solid designer of the highest caliber, to complement an already impressive engineering organization. We're looking for a talented designer who has rock solid in design principles, with problem solving skills and potential. Were defining new category of products, so imaginative design collaboration from the beginning will be essential. We are looking for someone who can - Design something ridiculously blue-sky OR something immediately implementable - Lay it on the line by owning the success or failure of the User Experience - Function in a diverse, friendly and highly technical environment - Juggle ambiguity without drowning in it - Communicate, specify and describe their designs to researchers, developers, testers, PMs, senior leadership and other designers without ambiguity and within deadlines Responsibilities: Projects usually start from scratch and require both conceptual and detailed design thinking. This means defining user goals, scenarios, benefits, and flows as well as conceptual designs and prototypes. Typically, these designs are holistic in nature, focusing on the end-to-end experience more than any specific feature(s).

Qualifications: - Fresher or experienced? For the right candidate experience will not be a barrier. We are looking for the best!

- Education requirements include either an MA/MS in interface design, industrial design or highly related field, OR a BA/BS in interaction, industrial design - Passion for design and strong command of visual design capabilities, including composition, layout information hierarchy, typography and color. - User-centric approach to design and working understanding of how to apply user research data - A design portfolio demonstrating both creative thinking and the delivery of solid end to end scenarios - Ability to use humor and energy to keep the momentum going!

Job Description

The mantra of the the User Interface (UI) team is: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." As a UI Designer, you have a strong technical background and work closely with Engineers and Product Managers to design products that are simple but great for the user, focusing on interaction and visual design. Using your keen design aesthetic you design and conduct experiments with real users so that improvements to the user experience are based on real user behavior. Your job is to make sure that our products are intuitive, accessible and usable to our millions of users. You design and lead the UI construction for complex projects with a broad scope and evolving objectives. You contribute to the overall product strategy through concept generation, prototyping and collaboration with with UX team to promote feature integration, as well as working with researchers to design user experiments to test your designs. Responsibilities Define the information architecture and design language of products, that fits both into the overall Google language while working effectively in the challenging and broad technical environment. You will be responsible for all stages of design and must think strategically while executing with great attention to detail. Work with Emerging Markets UX, PM and Eng to drive long term vision as well as quarterly goals and decide the strategic priorities for the product. Institute excellent operational processes so that Design and Eng work tightly together and if necessary, oversee external contract designers as needed. Detailing the workflow experience of our users and design compelling knowledge and entertainment products for global Emerging Markets that cement Google's relationship with the users.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree qualified (in lieu of degree, 10 years of experience).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors, Masters or post-graduate degree in visual communication, product design, industrial design or information design. Demonstrated experience in designing usable web-based and/or mobile interfaces.

Expert HTML knowledge, CSS and JavaScript knowledge. Photoshop or Fireworks proficiency. Knowledge of cross-browser issues and strategies for designing compatible UI.

Job Description

User Experience Designer The candidate would be responsible for defining the entire visual aspect of a product or a website. He/she should be able to understand and articulate the context of the product, the user and the domain in the right visual language and define the overall visual theme. He/she should be well conversant with methodologies tools and techniques and should be able to present a portfolio of work that validates the skills and experience. Should posses sound knowledge in Visual Design concepts and principles, UI Design Patterns, UI prototyping and simulation tools/techniques, UI development techniques and integrates basic principles of function with processes and procedures to assignments within own work area. Should be able to make quick design concept and style guides using Photoshop, HTML or any other method. The role will require the candidate to work closely with Product Managers, User Researchers, Engineers, and the rest of the User Experience team. The candidate will often be asked to present his/her work to the stake holders to solicit feedback and approval. The candidate should have good communication skills and ability to justify his/her design.

EDUCATION: Masters in Visual Design, Product Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts or any design related field or from other fields with relevant course in design. CORE SKILS: Visual Design and Interaction Design ADDITIONAL SKILLS: PhotoShop, HTML, CSS, Axure, User Research Methodologies NICE TO HAVE: JavaScript, Flash PROJECT: This position is based in Bangalore and will be part of the Yahoo! Design connections team. In this role, he/she will be responsible for designing the next generation user experience for Yahoo Answers, a product that enables 250 million users world-wide (21 markets and 9 languages) to share and consume experiential knowledge through its crowd sourced Q&A sites. He/ She will be responsible for designing user interface for multi-modal screen using various platforms like Android, iOS, and Windows 8.
