html A`udhu billahi min ash-Shaytaan ir-rajeem Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem Nawaytu l-arba een, nawaytu l- itikaaf, nawaytu l-khalwah, nawaytu l-riyaada, nawayt u s-salook, nawaytu l- uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-masjid. Ati` Allah wa ati` ar-Rasula wa uli 'l-amri minkum In the previous session we were discussing the marriage of Sayyidina `Ali (r) an d Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra (as). And we were saying that Allah (swt) created the whole universe for the sake of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). . Law laaka, law laaka ma khalaqta al-aflaak If not for you, [O Muhammad (s)], I would not have created the heavenly bodies. Whatever the Prophet (s) wants, will happen. Allah (swt) will never to Prophet ( s) no. He never spoke except it was revelation.

Maa yantiqa `an il-hawa in huwa illa wahyun yuhaa. He does not speak from his own desires, that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired. [53:3-4] With all that he asked, when he was asking his daughter if she will marry `Umar (r), if she will marry Sayyidina `Ali (r), he asked her if she will accept him, although he has the right to ask her, because his words are revelation, but stil l he asked her whether she likes or not. Grandshaykh said that today there are p eople who force their daughters who to marry for a handful of money and if they dont marry the one they like they beat them [all of which is wrong]. He is mukaarim al-akhlaq, he doesnt have to ask, best of manners, although he cou ld tell his daughter you have to marry, but he asked her, Do you like to marry Sa yyidina `Ali (r). And she said, No! and we explained that in the previous session. But Grandshaykh put here between two brackets a small story. When she said, No! th e Prophet (s) got red, because she said, No! and that is because he thought, and t his is a very important point, in order to teach us and make sure you understand that point. He got red [embarrassed]. He thought that there is a that she doesnt want to marry Sayyidina `Ali (r) becaus e Allah (swt) gave Sayyidina `Ali (r) these eyebrows, long ones and they are con necting, like the forehead here is coming out like a visor, so when he is, as he is well known that he is very strong and when fighting his enemy he was sweatin g a lot and in order to keep seeing, the eyebrows would collect the sweat, like something that collects the rain, and carries it to the side, he was like that a nd the Prophet (s) thought that because he is like that and therefore she likes Sayyidina `Umar (r) as Sayyidina `Umar (r) is more attractive than Sayyidina `Al i (r). This is the point and it is not for Prophet (s), because the Prophet (s) knows. We say the Prophet (s) knows everything [as Allah revealed it to them] and some

say awliyaullah know everything [as Allah reveals to them]. Dont say, The shaykh k nows everything. He is giving an example that if Allah (swt) wants His Prophet hing then His Prophet (s) knows everything and for sure Allah `uloom al-awwaleen wal-akhireen knowledge of the first and is teaching us that the Prophet (s) got red before the Sahaba that she thought that Sayyidina `Umar (r) was more beautiful i (r). (s) to know everyt (swt) gave him the the lasts. Still he because he thought than Sayyidina `Al

If Allah (swt) wants a wali to know then he inherits from Prophet (s), but if he doesnt want him to know then he blocks him. So awliyaullah may be under a test a lso. So many people today think they reached a high level of spirituality. Whate ver high level of spirituality you reached, if Allah (swt) doesnt want you to kno w, that blockage will be there, Allah (swt) will block you. That is an important point. Because all of us, we think when we get inspiration, something in our ea rs [that it is correct, but in fact], it might not be the truth. I was discussing that point with someone, that you know there are today, thousan ds of emails coming and thousands of phone calls coming, they go through a serve r to be filtered to see which one is correct and which one has a meaning and whi ch one has not meaning. Which one is a problem and which one is not a problem. T here are big servers that filter these emails. Also our ears are like this, thousands and thousands of signals come. We have to filter them. If we cannot filter them then we mix apples and oranges and it bec omes like a soup. Sayyidina Adam (as) was a prophet and what happened?

Fawaswasa lahuma ash-Shaytaanu li-yubdiya lahuma ma wooriya `anhuma min sawaatih ima wa qaala maa nahaakuma rabbukuma `an hadhihi ash-shajarati illa an takoona m alakayni aw takoona mina al-khalideena Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them, bringing openly before their mi nds all their shame that was hidden from them (before) he said: Your Lord only fo rbade you this tree, lest ye should become angels or such beings as live for eve r. [7:20] Shaytaan came and whispered in their ears to show them they were wrong and to hu miliate them. As soon as they listened what happened? All their private parts ap peared to them. So what did they do? They began to take leaves and cover themsel ves. So dont expose yourself you think what is coming to you is correct, that Allah (sw t) told them not to eat from the tree, "because Allah (swt) doesnt want you to be come two angels who will live forever." So they mixed the apples and oranges; th ey mixed the real inspirations of heavens and the ones from Iblees and they didnt filter it, and what happened? They fell down. So always when something comes do nt say, That is the truth. Try to filter it. Try to make it clear and in order that we will not do a mistake we try to check what we are getting. So Grandshaykh (q) said that sometimes people dont have enough knowledge and will be confused. So what do they have to do? They must put the issue in the mizan, Shariah-wise and asked is this acceptable Shariah-wise or not. Grandshaykh (q) s aid if you think it is not acceptable leave it; that is not an inspiration; rath er that is a whisper.

So we said, int]: I am

have to be very careful in what comes to our ears. Look like one wali, he and I will jump forward [in the notes] in order to explain [this subtle po Grandshaykh, may Allah (swt) bless him, said that one wali said, Ya Rabbee, not happy with your angels.

Awliyaullah are like that. They are in a haal, a trance. He said, I am not happy with Your angels. I am not accepting them; all of them. Allah (swt) said, If you dont accept them, [still] they are My angels. It means, You will go to hellfire. He said, I will go to hellfire, but I dont accept them. The in spiration was coming to his heart how? You will go to hellfire. He said, I prefer t o go to hellfire than to accept them. Then Allah (swt) said, Why? Awliyaullah they have haatif, we say a heavenly teleph one; a heavenly direct line they can hear. Not they can hear directly but they h ear the Divine Presence through angels. But he is not accepting that, even thoug h he is hearing through them (angels). He said, Send me to hellfire, I will be happier there than sitting with them. Alla h (swt) asked, Why? That wali said, Because ya Rabbee, when you asked them somethin g they criticized and complained. He asked, What did they complain? Ya Rabbee you sa id:

Wa idh qaala Rabbuka lil-malaikati innee ja`ilun fee al-ardi khaleefatan qaloo a taj`alu feeha man yufsidu feeha wa yasfiku ad-dimaa wanahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wa nuqaddisu laka qala innee a`lamu ma la ta`lamoona. Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: I will create a vicegerent on earth. They sai d: Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- wh ilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)? He said: I know what ye know not. [ 2:30] The wali is saying on ledge goes. You said what is this? You are earth. We are enough, tongue of Grandshaykh. Look awliyaullah how far their know ya Rabbee, I am going to make a calipha on earth. They said, O going to make a human race that is going to shed blood on we are praising you.

It means they have objected on what Allah (swt) said. They have to say yes, sami` na wa ata`na. Allah (swt) said, I know more than you. Because they did that, what did Allah (swt ) do? He taught Adam (as) the whole Names.

Wa `allama adama al-asmaa kullaha thumma `aradahum `ala al-malaikati faqaala anb ioonee biasmai haulai in kuntum saadiqeen. Qaaloo subhanaka la `ilma lana illa ma `allamtana innaka anta al-`aleemu al-hake em. And He imparted unto Adam (as) the names of all things; then He brought them wit hin the ken of the angels and said: Declare unto Me the names of these [things], if what you say is true. They replied: Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! No knowled ge have we save that which Thou hast imparted unto us. Verily, Thou alone art al l-knowing, truly wise. [2:31-32]

Because they said that Allah (swt) wants to show them that Adam (as) is honoured more than them. So He taught him the names. What names? Mine and your names? For the sake of the light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) Allah (swt) was teaching him the names. It means He is giving to Adam (as) to reach the light of Sayyidina M uhammad (s) in the forehead of Sayyidina Adam (as) and He taught the names of ev ery creation that Allah (swt) is creating in every moment. He told them, Tell me their names? And they said, We dont know. And then Allah (swt) said to Adam (as) to show them the Names.

Qaala ya adamu anbihum biasmaihim falamma anbaahum biasmaihim qaala alam aqul la kum innee a`lamu ghayba as-samawati wal-ardi wa a`lamu ma tubdoona wa maa kuntum taktumoon. Said He: O Adam (as), convey unto them the names of these [things]. And as soon as [Adam (as)] had conveyed unto them their names, [God] said: Did I not say unto y ou, `Verily, I alone know the hidden reality of the heavens and the earth, and k now all that you bring into the open and all. that you would conceal'? [2:33] Then the wali said, That is why I dont like them, they didnt listen and obey you. So these awliya are so beloved to Allah (swt). Awliyaee tahta qibaabee laa y`ala mahum ghayree. My saints are under My domes, no one knows them except Me. So these inspirations have to be filtered. You cannot take everything and begin to say it. ...So out of love wherever inspiration or whispering come to our ears so it was like orange and apples, like a soup. So we go back to [the story of] Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra (as) that on Judgment Da y before everything, she will say, Ya Rabbee give me my dowry. That dowry is the w hole Ummah. Else my marriage with Sayyidina `Ali (r) is not completed? So Allah (s wt) will give the whole Ummah for Sayyida Fatima (as). Look for one lady, how Allah (swt) honoured Ahlul-Bayt, and honoured women becau se they are women. Women are women and men are men. Look that woman, even before going on the Bridge, Sirat. Grandshaykh said that A llah (swt) will make His judgment. The people of Hell [will be sent] to Hell and the people of Paradise to Paradise. And she will ask to have her dowry. That is before the intercession of the Prophet (s). One lady will pull them out. Now what do you expect Prophet (s) to intercede? His intercession is to dress th e whole Ummah with the manifestations of mercy that are coming on Judgment Day. Thus by intercession of Sayyida Fatima (as) they will be taken to Paradise and w ith the intercession of the Prophet (s) they will be raised in level to the leve l of:

Alladheena an`ama Allahu `alayhim mina n-nabiyyeena wa s-siddeeqeena wa sh-shuhadai wa s-saaliheena wa hasuna ulaaika rafeeqa. Those on whom is the Grace of Allah (swt), of the prophets (who teach), the sinc ere (lovers of Truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the Righteous (who do go od): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship! [4:69]

Wa min Allah at-tawfeeq bi hurmati l-Fatiha.
