About DMX and VMAX In the Production TGL (r1) environment 3 dmx-3000,2 dmx-800 are connected. Dmx -800 are used for test arrays, Dmx-3000 for production databases. In the SLT (r1) environment 3 dmx are using.RTV is used for SRDF.In the TGL environment one VMAX1846 is connectd. SRDF (TGL) VMAX (r1)1846----------RTV(r2)2100 SRDF(SLT) DMX2154-------------DMX 161 In the DMX arrays connected host platforms are UNIX, AIX, Solaries, EXX.EXX is the VMware host, for that host storage provisioning is doing by UNISPHERE.In the TDC environment there are TIER-1, TIER-2, and TIER 3 allocations are there. The TIER 1,2 are used for DMX,VMAX.Tier 3 for CX and VNX.UNISPHERE is used for VNX. About storage provisioning There should be no separate criteria for storage provisioning .Directly we can do the provisioning (by checking disk sizes, availability of hosts).IN the production time also we can do the provisioning there is no time flags.Timefinder clones are 2 nos, srdf for all tier 1 hosts,No snap copies on DMX

MICROCODE UPGRADATION In the dmx environment the current ingenuity is 5771 reecntly they upgraded from 5771 to 5773.the vmax enginuity is 5875.for microcode up gradation we need to collect the grabs ,host compatibility,hba details,powerpath info.Open the cmr and send this details to emc.then emc recommended. Movement of servers Recently they moved the servers from DMX to VMAx i.e. tiger is moved from dmx to vmax.they are using One script is for server movement located in /opt/emc/scripts/bin. All reconfigurations for dmx, vmax is done by EMC.at present in vmax array having 28 masking views (it contains storage group, port group and initiator group).In vmax storage allocation is auto it should follows the policy called FAST. It acts according to thin pool sizes it will shifts the data from FC TO SATA. In H/w failure, Storage decomm, Disk format issues Vendor will involve. He should not need data center access .EMC will gives all permissions to third party. fourth port of the device is having the SRDF connectivety.all health checks and check list documents for vmax, dmx will provide by tdc
