Introduction:
The definition of education in common usage, that education is simply the delivery of knowledge, skills and information from teachers to students, is not enough to capture what is really important about being and becoming educated. The proper definition of education is the process of becoming an educated person. Being an educated person means we have access to best states of mind regardless of the situation you are in. we are able to make out accurately, think clearly and act well to achieve self-selected goals and aspirations. Education is a process of mapping your experiences and finding a variety of reliable route to best states when you find our self in non-optimal states. The idea that the definition of education is the delivery of knowledge, skills and information from teachers to students is misguided. One way high school is a new structure of education system that is being practiced in most of the well developed countries and being practiced as an experimental project in developing countries to see whether it helps to improve

peoples perception by increasing literacy rate as it offers a completely different dimension of education. My topic was to find out whether one way high school education can contribute to improve the quality, and peopless perception of Goton sohor, for which my main selected objectives were to find What is the present condition of running education system? Is everyone aware of the present education system? Will they accept the idea of one way high school condition? If there is a scope to apply this new dimension of education system or it will be a failure?

RATIONAL:

High school education is very important and essential to students. It helps student to identify their own skills and to select their future routine where they have to go according to their talents and skills. It is essential to students to have basic knowledge of mathematics, science and language studies and they should be mandatory in high school education. However, in my point of view, I strongly believe they should be allowed to study what they prefer along with these mandatory courses. It helps them to identify their own talents, to improve them and to prepare for the future careers. Students have own talents and they have special interest to some subject areas. If they had not give a chance to incorporate with those interests they would not aware that they have specific skills on certain fields. Indeed, if someone has eager to learn a specific subject, they will definitely succeed on it and most of them continue learning on it. This will open gates to routes of their future careers. Sometimes they may become professionals on that field.

Limitation of study:

During our survey and also while analyzing the data and preparing the report we have faced some difficulties and limitations. Some of the limitations that we have faced are as follows: Our knowledge about this course and the work was partial. In the first day at village the villagers were confused about our motive and felt inconvenient to talk to us. Though we have told them about our work and intention, they were suspecting our purpose. Some of them thought that we

were frauds and didnt want to cooperate. Later on they understood our purpose and welcomed us graciously. Our Goton Sohor is a small para. But most of the villagers dont have enough knowledge about their para. They couldnt tell us much about past events of their para except for a few elderly persons. Time limitation was another problem for us. The time we were given to collect data and questionnaire survey was not enough. Though our para was not too big it required more than 3 to 4 hours to get the whole idea about the certain topics. There are many questions that we couldnt ask them due to the time

constrain. To analyze data and prepare the report we were not given enough thus we felt the time limitation. The respondents were not sometimes comfortable to answer the questions as they felt unsafe to talk about the topic.

History of the Goton Sohor:

13

The Goton Sohor doesnt have a very rich history because its age is only 32 years, as it was established in 1988. If we consider the geographical area of Joypurhat then we find that it is one of the new Para of Goton Sohor Village. Reason behind Naming: We know that there is obvious reason behind any naming. When villagers were asked about the reason of naming Goton Sohor many of them said us the cause behind the naming. As we heard about 8/10 kinds of story about the naming of the para we were confused and assumed that no one was telling the truth, all of them were lying just to get our attention.

Result
When I chose this topic for my report I myself was not clear about the conception of one way high school system. So I started to search for secondary and took the help of internet and found so many useful articles and explanations that made the concept pretty clear to me and finally I was able to start my report. I noticed that the one way high education system is mostly popular at well developed countries. The reason behind that is, because they have successfully applied the concept and the student has also successfully adapted the system. Now a days all the community schools abroad are using the one way high school education system. This system was introduced as an experimental project in some of the lower level schools that were specially designed for rural illiterate. It was a significant result as one way educational system completely changed the way they perceived. Several surveys were done and after comparing the results it showed that most of the students were actually enjoying study more that never happened with the typical education system. Then the system was introduced to some school with the help from

INTERNATIONAL STUDY CIRCLE and the result was also progressive in that case. Some numeric info:

15

Improvement in exam results by almost 38% comparing to previous 10yrs.

Almost 0% drop outs From Schools where the rate was 68% 10yrs. ago.
Source: International Study Circle CTG. International study circle introduced this one way education system. Most of the countryside students didnt even complete their high school because of their lack of interest and their parents also. But because this one way system gives a student a full freedom of choosing his or her own field of interest to study, now there are no seats left in these schools after the admission time is over with.

Opinion

Positive Negative No Opinion

16

Figure 1 Peoples Opinion about One Way High School So it can surely be said that one way high school can surely change the quality, and peopless perception of Goton Sohor is positive. But there are some facts that had to be given necessary priority in order for this system to function its duties properly these are: Every education system that introduced this system first made sure that the teachers are properly trained in order to deliver quality, education for the students. No student was forced to the system, this was given as an option and students adapted the system by their own will. The system is expensive.

Before introducing one way high school education in Goton Sohor it has to be made sure that there are potential students as well as parents who are willing give their children proper education. Talking to a teacher of Shampur High School I got to know that he never heard anything like that. So its pretty clear that necessary training for teachers are also needed for this one way high school education to play its role as a perception changer in Goton Sohor.

Discussion:

17

One way high school education system will bring innovation in the present education system of Bangladesh. Especially for the students of rural areas who are very hardly attracted to education. Perception means the ways to perceive everything. People perceive according to their ability and peoples ability to perceive correctly increases only when a person educates himself about his or her surroundings. Education is the only element besides practical knowledge that helps people to think big, to choose between right and wrong. So there is no way that Goton Shoros peoples quality, qof perceiving wont turn into a positive and bright direction if the one way high school education system is properly introduced to the students of Goton Sohor.

Conclusion:
If the present education system is not properly monitored then even one way high school education system wont be able to do anything for this rural education system. Peoples way of perceiving is something that can only be controlled by him or herself. So education is the only way to improve the quality, of perceiving whether the education system stays as it is now or one way education system is introduced.

18

Our assigned village Goton Sohor is not a typical Bangladeshi village as we assumed previously. What we perceived earlier is that, villages in Bangladesh are still undeveloped. They do not have electricity, poor communications systems, and undeveloped roads and burdened with poverty and scarcity. However, Goton Sohor is not a village of that kind. It has an urban touch in rural surroundings. It has all most all the modern facilities an urban city can offer. As a student we have tried to notice each and every activity of the rural people and tried to ascertain the clues why the rural life is not developing over the years. We have identified that they are much more hard workers than the urban people though the way they earn their living is not perfect. Most of the time we found that especially the women ignored the education as a result they cant contribute their knowledge with the decisions of the men.
