I am proud of your organization and you have my full support. I have read your statement against the impending Assault Weapons Ban and its related provisions. I cheer your well reasoned resistance to it and its forced fingerprinting, registrations, databases, penalties, bans, and subsequent arrests of good people. You have set the standard for wise law enforcement and I support your agency entirely. I and millions of others thank you for being true to your sworn oaths. We are shocked at the demonization of the American gun owner after the CT Shooting. This event is fully exploited to further the Obama Progressive political agenda as he seeks to transform this country. As its foundation, as in other countries, is civilian disarmament. As statistics confirm, it has nothing to do with public safety. The last bastion of defense against tyranny will be the armed American and there are millions of us. We never want this day to come but our country is laid upon our option to do so if needed. That the Bill of Rights recognizes our natural rights is no mistake; its that important. If the 2 nd Amendment is lost (as this AWB threatens to do), then all the other rights will follow. Civil unrest or even Civil War could result. As you state, there are many legitimate and important reasons for owning semi-automatic so called high capacity firearms. But the most important is to safeguard against tyrannical subjugation. This is as intended by our wise forefathers who had overthrown the bonds of just such a nation. They were inspired. Close in importance in owning these tools by responsible citizens is defense against criminal violence. These guns protect many great people every day and will continue to do so. Recently several mass murders were foiled by civilians with such firearms. Thank you for acknowledging this critical use as well. In short I wish to extend to you my wholehearted gratitude for your wisdom in refusing to allow unconstitutional Federal laws and invading Federal agencies to subjugate Utahns to Obamas interpretation of state safety. If this AWB or similar laws pass, in time these agencies (with increased funding and manpower) will indeed descend upon Utah to enforce it, either directly or opportunistically (ie Federal road blocks). Know that I (and my tens of thousands of viewers who will contact you) support your complete resistance to these laws, even to arms. Thank you for defending us. Sincerely,
