POLICE NOTICE

The public is hereby informed that, by virtue of powers conferred upon me

under Section 181 of the Road Traffic Act 1962, the following traffic
arrangements will be in force as from 1300 hrs on Monday 16 February 2009
until 2100 hrs on Tuesday 17 February 2009.

NO PARKING

The following roads will be declared “No Parking Zone” as from 0600 hrs on
Monday 16.02.2009 until 2100 hrs on Tuesday 17.02.2009:

 St Jean Road to La Louise

 Palma Road to Pierrefonds
 Pierrefonds to Beau Songes
 Beau Songes to Black River Road
 Black River Road to Flic en Flac
 Ollier Avenue in Quatre Bornes,
 Sir Virgil Naz Avenue, Quatre Bornes
 Berthaud Avenue, Quatre Bornes
 Cossigny Avenue, Quatre Bornes
 Bernardin De St Pierre Avenue, Quatre Bornes

TRAFFIC DIVERSION

MONDAY 16.02.2009

AS FROM NOON:

ROAD CLOSURE

1. St Jean Road will be closed to vehicular traffic in both directions from 1300
to 2200 hrs from St Jean to Flic en Flac.

TRAFFIC DIVERSION

1. Traffic from Belle Rose towards Quatre Bornes will be diverted into Ollier
Avenue, Victoria Avenue and Naz Avenue onto Berthaud Avenue
towards La Louise.

2. Traffic from Candos towards Port-Louis will be diverted into Sir

Sewoosagur Ramgoolam Avenue towards Tulipes Avenue. Sir
Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Avenue from its junction with Candos Road
will be converted into a one-way street towards Tulipes Avenue.

3. Tulipes Avenue will be converted into a one-way street from its junction
with Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Avenue towards St Jean Road.

4. Traffic from Black River and Flic en Flac towards Palma will be diverted
along Black River Road towards Bambous and St Martin.

5. Geoffroy Road will be converted into a one-way street from Beau Songes
towards Bambous.

AS FROM 1500 HRS:

ROAD CLOSURE

1. Northbound motorway will be closed to vehicular traffic from Sir

Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport Roundabout up to St Jean
Roundabout. All Roundabouts will be manned by police to allow traffic to
cross. All exits on the Northbound motorway will be closed.

DIVERTED TRAFFIC

1. All motor vehicles leaving Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International

Airport and proceeding in the direction of Plaine Magnien will be
diverted along Mon Desert Mon Tresor Road, L’escalier Road onto Plaine
Magnien Road.
2. Vehicles proceeding towards Mahebourg will cross Plaine Magnien
Roundabout to engage into a special lane provided along the Southbound
carriageway towards Cemetery Roundabout and Mahebourg

3. Traffic from Curepipe to Port-Louis will be diverted along Palmerstone

Road, Sivananda Avenue, Pont Fer Roundabout, Petit Camp and St Jean
onwards. Petit Camp Road will be converted into one way street towards
Shoprite and will be declared a “No Parking Zone”.

AS FROM 1800 HRS

ROAD CLOSURE

1. Northbound motorway will be closed to vehicular traffic from

St Jean to Grewals. All exits on Northbound motorway will be closed and
Roundabouts will be manned by police to allow traffic to cross.

2. St Jean Road will be closed to vehicular traffic in both directions from St

Jean to Flic en Flac.

DIVERTED TRAFFIC

1. Traffic from the direction of St Jean towards Port-Louis will be diverted

either onto A 1 or Ebene Link Road towards Reduit and Martindale

2. The 3rd Lane will be operational on the Southbound motorway from

Martindale to Guibies.

AS FROM 200O HRS

ROAD CLOSURE

1. Southbound motorway will be closed to vehicular traffic from Caudan

Roundabout to St Jean . All exits on Southbound motorway will be closed
and manned by police to allow traffic to cross

2. St Jean Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic in both directions from
St Jean to Flic en Flac.

DIVERTED TRAFFIC

1. Traffic from Port-Louis towards St Jean will be diverted on A1 as from

Caudan Roundabout.

TUESDAY 17.02.2009

AS FROM 0700 HRS:

ROAD CLOSURE

1. Southbound motorway will be closed to traffic from St Jean to

Pont Fer. All exits on Southbound motorway will be closed and manned
by police to allow traffic to cross

2. St Jean Road will be closed to vehicular traffic in both directions from
St Jean to Flic en Flac.

DIVERTED TRAFFIC

1. Traffic flow on Southbound motorway will be diverted towards Petit

Camp from Shoprite. Petit Camp Road will be converted into a one way
street towards Pont Fer.

2. Traffic from Vacoas will be diverted into St Paul Road.

AS FROM 1000 HRS:

ROAD CLOSURE

1. Northbound motorway will be closed to traffic from Pont Fer Roundabout

to Reduit Roundabout. All exits on Northbound motorway will be closed
and Roundabouts will be manned by police to allow traffic to cross.

DIVERTED TRAFFIC

1. Traffic flow from Pont Fer to Port-Louis will be diverted towards Petit
Camp. Petit Camp Road will be converted into a one way street towards
St Jean.

2. Access to University Roundabout will be denied to vehicular traffic.

AS FROM 1215 HRS:

ROAD CLOSURE

1. Southbound motorway will be closed to traffic from Reduit Roundabout

to St Jean Roundabout. All exits on Southbound motorway will be closed
and manned by police to allow traffic to cross.

2. St Jean Road will be closed to vehicular traffic in both directions from

St Jean to Flic en Flac.

DIVERTED TRAFFIC

1. Traffic flow proceeding towards St Jean will be diverted through Old

Moka Road, Ebene and St Jean.

FROM 1445 HRS TO 1800 HRS

ROAD CLOSURE

1. Northbound motorway will be closed to traffic from St Jean Roundabout

to Pamplemousses Roundabout . All exits on Northbound Motorway will
be closed and all Roundabouts will be manned by police to allow traffic to
cross.

2. St Jean Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic in both directions from
St Jean to Flic en Flac.

DIVERTED TRAFFIC

1. Traffic flow from St Jean towards Port-Louis will be diverted onto A1 and
Ebene Link Road towards Martindale. The diverted traffic will cross the
Northbound motorway onto the 3rd lane as from Martindale. All exits
along Northbound motorway will be closed.

2. The 3rd lane will be operational as from Martindale to Pamplemousses

Roundabout to allow countraflow traffic towards the North.

3. Traffic flow from Port-Louis Centre towards the North will be diverted
along Royal Street, Nicolay Road and Terre Rouge.

AS FROM 1430 HRS

1. Heavy Motor Vehicles will not be allowed access along the Motorway
between Pamplemousses and St Jean.

AS FROM 1800 HRS:

ROAD CLOSURE

1. St Jean Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic in both directions from
St Jean to Flic en Flac.

2. Southbound motorway will be closed to traffic from St Jean Roundabout

to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport Roundabout.

DIVERTED TRAFFIC

1. Traffic from St Jean towards Pont Fer will be diverted into Petit Camp
Road, which will be converted into a one way street from Shoprite
towards Pont Fer.

2. All traffic from Pont Fer towards Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam

International Airport will be diverted into Phoenix – Mahebourg Road via
Nalletamby Road and Palmerstone Road

3. All exits on Southbound motorway will be closed and Roundabouts will

be manned by Police to allow traffic to cross.

N.B : Traffic on the stretch of road from Black River Road to Flic-en-
Flac in both directions will be allowed in between the passage of
the official motorcade under strict control by the Police.
