-Goths under Alaric attacked the Roman Empire -410 AD the Goths destroyed Rome -hail reminds of their northern origin, fire was the destruction by flame and blood was the terrible slaughter of the citizens of the empire -the emperor of the Romans fled before the king of the Goths

EMPIRE 4TH TRUMPET

-Odoacer, chief of Heruli (a barbarian remnant of the host of Attila), was the first barbarian ruler of Italy. His reign marked the end of the Western Roman Empire -the sun, the moon and the stars from prophecy were the great luminaries of the Roman government: emperors, senators and consuls all disappeared before 526 AD

2ND TRUMPET
-Vandals under Genseric invaded and conquered the North of Africa (part of the Roman Empire) -428-468 AD attacks of the coasts of Spain, Italy, Greece -mention of the sea and the ships destroyed predicted conquests made by naval forces Genseric became the tyrant of the sea, destroying Roman fleets and preying on the Roman commerce

3RD TRUMPET
-the Huns under Attila, coming from the East, came with the rapidity of a flashing meteor, invaded and occupied and desolated the whole breadth of Europe from Euxine to the Adriatic. -during his reign (434-453 AD), Attila was one of the most feared enemies of the Roman Empire

THE 5TH TRUMPET

1st WOE
-610-Mohammed (c.570-632) at the age of 40 pretends having revelations from God -628-the king of Persia, Chosroes, was murdered this was the opening of the bottomless pit - it prepared the way for Muslims to rise from obscurity -629-marked by the conquest of Arabia by the Muslims and the first war against the Roman Empire -bottomless pit - the term in Greek (abyssos) may refer to any waste place-a good comparison for the unknown wastes of the Arabian desert -the smoke of a great furnace (Rev.9:2) filled the world with darkness and delusion, illustration of the pestilential influence of Islam, in contrast with the light of the gospel of Jesus -the locusts, vs.3, a fit symbol of the Arabs, they came as destroyers, propagating a new doctrine -632 AD, after the death of Mohammed, he was succedeed by Abu-Bekr. Until the 13th century the Muslims remained divided and led by several leaders -vs.10 to hurt men five months - a prophetic time of 150 years (5x30), from 1299 to 1449 -27th of July 1299-Othman (Osman I) founder of the Ottoman Empire, invaded the territory of Nicomaedia (part of the Greek Empire), starting a perpetual war with the Greeks, but yet without conquering them (the prophecy spoke about hurting but not destroying) -the Ottomans seized upon and held several of the Greek provinces, but still Greek independence was maintained in Constantinople -the Saracens and the Turks were the instruments by which a false religion became the scourge of an apostate church

ISLAM 7TH TRUMPET

3rd WOE
-Revelation 11:14-19 -vs..14-the third woe cometh quickly -because the first two woes were represented by Islam, the third woe can not have a different nature: it is Islam, again -Wahhabi Movement, ultra-conservative branch of Sunni Islam, grew continually since the forming of Saudi Arabia in 1932 -1928-was founded in Egypt the Society of the Muslim Brothers -Sayyid Qutb (1906-1966)-Egyptian thinker, leading member of Muslim Brotherhood, becomes through his writings an inspiration for radical Islam -during the Cold War, USA and UK encouraged and sponsored fundamentalist groups as a protection against the expansion of the Soviet Union -1979-Islamic Revolution in Iran, a success for Islamic fundamentalism -1981- al-Jihad assassinated the Egyptian president Anwar Sadat -1987-Hamas is founded, an offshot of Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood -1988-establishing of Al-Qaeda, by Osama-bin-Laden -1993-truck bomb detonated to attack the World Trade Centre, New York -1998-U.S.Embassies attacked in Tanzania and Kenya - suicide bombings in trucks -2000-destroyer U.S.S. Coyle damaged in Yemen in a suicide attack -2001-Sept 11-World Trade Centre towers destroyed by Al Qaeda terrorists (see the prophecy from Isaiah 30:25b).15 of 19 hijackers involved in the attacks were Saudi nationals -2004-Beslan(Russia) school hostage -2004-Madrid train bombings -2005-London bombings -2011-Muslim Brotherhood is legalized in Egypt, after the Revolution. Its credo is, "God is our objective; the Quran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of God is the highest of our aspirations." All these attacks make the nations angry (Rev.11:18). The anger of the nations will be used by the Antichrist to make war against God's true remnant, those who keep the commandments of God (Rev.12:17)

6TH TRUMPET
2nd WOE
-v.12-15-the four angels were the four main sultanies of the Ottoman Empire -the restriction to tormenting is lifted and they are allowed to slay -1449-Constantine, the last of the Greek emperors, was crowned after his ambassadors received the approbation of the sultanrecognizing the supremacy of the Turkish sultan -1451 Mahomet II (Mehmed II The Conqueror) becomes sultan -1453-siege and fall of Constantinople-becomes the seat of the Ottoman Empire -vs.17-description of the Turkish uniform-fire (red), jacinth (blue) and brimstone (yellow); the fire coming from the mouths is a reference to the use of gunpowder and firearms -vs.18,19-describe the deadly effect of the new mode of warfare introduced-gunpowder, firearms and cannon -until the death of the sultan Mehmed II almost all Balkan countries were conquered: Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro -an hour, a day, a month, and a year- supremacy of the Ottoman Empire - this is 391 years and 15 days, starting from July 27 1449 and ending in August 11, 1840 (Josiah Litch made this application in 1838) -the period ended in the way it began, by the voluntarily surrender of independence -1840-to avoid the sure result of being defeated by Mehemet Ali, pasha of Egypt, the Turkish sultan accepted the intervention of 4 Christian great powers (England, Russia, Austria and Prussia). A conference in London of these powers resulted in an ultimatum given to the pasha of Egypt-this ultimatum arrived in Egypt on the 11th of August 1840! Thus the supremacy of the Ottoman Empire ended and the empire itself continued to exist only by the sufferance of these Christian powers.
