Some 2004 - 05 Elantra vehicles may experience an AM radio electrical interference noise from the cruise control module and/or instrument cluster. An electrical interference kit has been developed that will assist in reducing the noise. This bulletin provides the procedure for the installation of the electrical interference field fix kit. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: 1. Record the customer's radio stations and disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the 4 screws as indicated to remove the instrument facia panel.

3. Carefully remove the instrument facia panel from the instrument panel assembly.

4. Remove the instrument panel rheostat, trip computer and Traction Control System (TCS) connectors (if applicable). Pay attention to which connectors go to each component.

5. Remove the instrument facia panel switch connectors.

6. Unplug the cigarette lighter connector. 7. Remove the instrument facia panel from the instrument panel assembly and set aside.

8. Remove the 6 screws as indicated in the photo.

9. Slide out the radio assembly from the instrument panel assembly.

10. Locate the factory radio harness and the antenna plug as shown and remove from radio.

11. Place the adhesive conductive metal tape from the kit across the bracket behind the radio so that the black foam is covered. Ensure the conductive tape contacts the exposed metal on the bracket.

12. Install the noise filter to the vehicle's antenna cable approximately 1 inch (2.54 cm) from the antenna plug.

13. Wrap the noise filter with the supplied adhesive foam tape to prevent movement and vibration.

14. Reconnect the radio harness and antenna to the radio. 15. Install all components in reverse order of removal. 16. Reconnect the negative battery cable and reset the customer's radio stations and clock. 17. Verify that the radio receiver and all components that have been disconnected function correctly.
