It is official that Saxby Chambliss will not seek a third term. The only two of the sitting house members that I could consider for that position would be Graves and Broun. If it is one of the others start finding a candidate, but remember that Saxby spent $10M in 2008 and almost got beaten by a Democrat.

Teachers Dont Get to Choose Their Students!

Commentary by Bruce Kendall

Neither do children get to pick their parents. Next time before you complain about Teachers or schools inability to teach all those well-mannered darling children fostered into their care for a few hours each day consider the evidence: The event captured at a local restaurant is not an untypical event, as frequently witnessed by yours truly. Not in the picture is Dad, who directed his little darlings to climb up in a chair, then across a table and pose for a picture with Mr. Mushroom. If Dad is encouraging unsafe, bad mannered, wild behavior in public, then what good behavior expectations are there for these children in school. In a climate, that requires a level of selfDisipline, and safety for themselves and others. God help the Teachers, because the parents arent! Maybe if we spent a little more time paying attention to events as they unfold around us, we might develop a better understanding of the real world. Not the one we sometimes think we live in. Advice I have to remind myself of, on occasion.

Shock Claim: The New Litmus Test Of Leadership In

The Military Is If They Will Fire On US Citizens Or Not
Mac Slavo January 22nd, 2013 SHTFPLAN.COM Read by 20,966 people

Had the following comments been made on a fringe corner of the internet most would dismiss them as outright conjecture. However, what you are about to read comes from one of the worlds foremost philanthropists, Jim Garrow, who has SPENT TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF HIS OWN MONEY to help over 35,000 Chinese baby girls from near certain death under Chinas one-child-per-couple policy. He was one of the 206 nominees for the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, which was ultimately awarded to President Barack Obama. Garrow, who has friends in high places, including the U.S. military, made a startling claim on his Facebook page Sunday, which if true, should leave no doubt about why the Obama administration is moving full force to seize firearms from law abiding Americans and why the US governments law enforcement and security assets have been making preparations for years IN ANTICIPATION OF SOCIAL BREAKDOWN AND WIDESPREAD CIVIL UNREST. According to Garrow, the Obama administration has been rapidly retiring or re-assigning US military leaders based on a new litmus test of their loyalty: I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new litmus test in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks. The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not. Those who will not are being removed. DR. JIM GARROW JANUARY 21, 2013 PAUL JOSEPH WATSON OF INFOWARS notes that this new litmus test comes at a time when millions of Americans are already suspicious of the governments motives behind a number of actions, including the most recent push to disarm the population: Garrows claim is even more explosive given that the country is in the throes of a national debate about gun control, with gun rights advocates keen to insist that the founders put the second amendment in the Constitution primarily as a defense against government tyranny. It also follows REPORTS ON SUNDAY that General James Mattis, head of the United States Central Command, is being told to vacate his office several months earlier than planned.

Response to Other peoples kids

Commentary by J. J. Miles

I have just completed the most recent version of the newsletter (#381). I think it is another well done issue bringing out facts about people, places, and things impacting our community that we would not necessarily get anywhere else. I think in times like these it is especially important for us to know what is happening in our local governments allowing us to hold the elected accountable and make sure they are being good stewards of our monies. I dont always agree with everything you publish, be it yours or someone elses thoughts, and usually take it with a grain of salt. Today however I did take issue with your response on the Hey Henry from Jan. 23rd. The response was titled Other peoples kids. Oh, how were they raised?. This was in regards to the post about Henry BoE employees not receiving raises going on seven years. Your newsletter suggested that the employees should stop whining like childrenand buy a clue. As the spouse and son of teachers I must say that I am disappointed with your response. What the Hey Henry post does not note is that those same teachers without the pay raise have also under gone furlough days (except during the election year for some reason), drastic increases in their healthcare cost, layoffs, larger class sizes, longer days (starts next year), cuts in their class room budgets (mine buys her own supplies paper, ink, etc), and a whole bunch of new processes and procedures that add to their instruction time. Normally I agree with most statements about work and being grateful for jobs and paychecks especially with an 8+% unemployment rate. However I can tell you that with

the hours some teachers put in to their jobs and with their rate of pay they are making far less now than they were six years ago. I also hear about teachers leaving the field because it is no longer about instructing the student to the school system, but documenting something for a bureaucrat. Many of them today feel that they are not doing what they were called to do all those years ago. I cant respond to this and not mention the children. When you and I were in school we had respect for our teachers and school staff. We worked hard to get good grades and to behave or we were punished and would have to apologize. Larry, with the exception of a very small amount of Henry County families this is something of the past. Today the student is lucky to have breakfast, lucky to have a coat, lucky to have a book bag, and lucky to even have someone wake them up and get them ready for school. I cant begin to tell you the pencils, paper, and other school supplies that we have purchased over the years. These are things you have to do so the teacher can do their job. Todays school too many parents is a babysitting service for many in our county and they just do not care. The adults and children both have an entitled attitude that they deserve success without the effort. They get their ride to school paid for, they get their free lunch, and they get their free ride home. Many expect field trips and extra things without helping with the cost. Also dont ask for parent involvement. Out of a class of 27 students it is not unusual to only have 15%-20% participation from parents. The others do not have time to be bothered. Regardless of the student or the parent the success and failure of the teacher is based on testing. Many in the county will say a teacher was good or bad based on the score their children receive on one test. So based on all of the above I do think it is ok to do a little whining. I dont agree with not doing their job, but I can understand it. They are asked for more and more and given less and less and they are still there for the kids. Both of the teachers I know love the children and want the best for them. That is far more than many in this county can say.
