Description of the Feature

Feature Control Offline (FCOFF) offers subscribers easy control of features assigned to their directory number, such as activation and deactivation of the features, in a voice-controlled dialog. The dialog uses a subscriber-friendly control interface. FCOFF simplifies control sequences, which can contribute to an increase in the usage of features. Use and effect The following table shows whether the feature can be used by the calling or called subscriber and on which side of the connection the feature applies.
Calling subscriber FCOFF use FCOFF effect X X Called subscriber -----

Mode of operation
The Feature Control Offline (FCOFF) service can be accessed as follows: from the subscribers own line The subscriber dials the service number for local access. from a remote line The subscriber dials a service number. The dialog system then prompts the subscriber to enter the directory number of the line to be administered (the subscribers own number) and a personal identication number (PIN). After accessing the FCOFF feature, the subscriber is connected with the integrated voice processing system (IVPS). Depending on the resources available to the IVPS, and additional components in the TDM network node, one or more input modes are offered to the subscriber at the beginning of the dialog.

Interactions For interaction with other features, see Feature Interactions.

DTMF (dual-tone multi-frequency) Input with a xed menu structure Voice input with a xed menu structure Voice input in natural language dialog with voice recognition

The following features can be controlled by means of FCOFF:

ABBD ACR ACS CAC CALR CCIB CFAN CFFA CFGA CFO CF-VMS CLIR CNIR COLR CW Abbreviated Dialing Anonymous Call Rejection Alarm Call Service Carrier Access Code Called Line Identification Restriction Call Completion Internet Busy Call Forwarding to Any Number Call Forwarding to a Fixed Announcement Call Forwarding to a Group of Announcements Call Forwarding to an Operator Call Forwarding to a Voice Mail Service Calling Line Identification Restriction Calling Name Identification Restriction Connected Line Identification Restriction Call Waiting Call Waiting Internet Busy Detailed Billing Do Not Disturb Distinctive Ringing Fixed Destination Call General Facility Reset Line Hunting Malicious Call Identification Call Barring Personal Identification Number Parallel Ringing Reverse Charging Call Rejection Rejection of Forwarded Calls Selective Call Acceptance Selective Call Forwarding Selective Call Originating Selective Call Rejection Selective Call Waiting Selective Ringing Voice Data Protection

The subscriber can choose between DTMF and voice input. If the voice mode is chosen, input in a natural language dialog is only possible if the EWSD network node is connected through the data network with a SURPASS hiR 200 (announcement and dialog server). The SURPASS hiR 200 has voice recognition software for identifying spoken words during a natural language dialog. If voice input in natural language dialog is not possible, the voice input function with a fixed menu structure is automatically selected. After specifying the input mode, the FCOFF subscriber is offered a menu with features. The language used by the IVPS can be defined for each specific project.

The subscriber is guided through the rest of the dialog by means of system announcements for example, for activating or deactivating his or her feature, or for modifying or querying the feature data. Announcements inform the subscriber of the results of his or her inputs.

SCA SCF SCO SCR SCW SR VDP

Capacity How many subscribers can be assigned authorization to use the feature depends on the number of created UI-LTGs or on the number of SURPASS hiR 200 announcement and dialog servers available in the TDM network node. The percentage of authorized subscribers who can use the feature at the same time depends on the services used in the UI-LTG.

Acknowledgement of subscriber-controlled inputs An announcement informs the subscriber of the final result of the input. For each network node, it can be specified whether additional administration activities are possible with the same connection. If this is the case, the announcement of the result of an input is followed by an announcement asking the subscriber to select another feature (or the same one again).

one, two, three

Incorrect or missing inputs An announcement indicates any incorrect or missing data. The input menu is then offered again. The subscriber has a total of three chances to enter or correct his or her input. If the input is still wrong or missing, the call will be ended. Missing subscriber inputs are monitored by a timer. The number of incorrect inputs allowed can be defined: for individual subscriber PIN inputs (default value is 5) for other procedure inputs for example, the subscribers directory number and data that can be input, such as a call forwarding number (default value is 3)

Subscriber access types The feature can be used with the following types of subscriber access:

Call charge registration

Call charge registration is possible with automatic message accounting (AMA) An AMA record is generated for successful input. FCOFF is charged as for normal subscriber-controlled inputs for the administered feature. Each new SCI is individually charged, even if the subscriber does not interrupt the connection to FCOFF between two inputs. The use of FCOFF itself is not noted in the AMA ticket. The service number (for local or remote access to FCOFF) is registered in the AMA ticket. The AMA data can be postprocessed for alternative charging to the standard charges. The directory number of anyone abusing a remote SCI can be determined from the AMA ticket. Meter Observation (MOB) for aborted SCIs is not implemented. For enhanced user-friendliness, additional status and data information is announced to the subscriber during the dialog (similar to that for a query input). The additional information is only charged separately if the subscriber terminates the dialog before completion of the subscriber-controlled input (SCI). For a completed SCI operation, the normal SCI rate will be charged, while the additional information is free of charge.

Call charge registration For more information, please refer to OMN:EXCH-TA. System administration The following feature data can be administered in the network node: display feature data release of a feature for FCOFF recording by means of trafc measurement For more information, please refer to OMN:EXCH-SY. Subscriber administration For more information, please refer to OMN:EXCH-SU. GeoCENTREX administration For more information, please refer to OMN:EXCH-CTX.

Administration
The operator can perform all administration functions on the NetManager by means of user-friendly applications or MML commands. Feature authorization No individual subscriber authorization is required for the feature. However, input from a remote line requires authorization for Remote Subscriber Controlled Input (RSCI).

Requirements
