Sanjay is a keen supporter of local Foodbanks and demonstrated some of these simple meals at the South West Regional Foodbanks meeting on 20 October 2012. Sanjay is currently Sous-chef at the Headland Hotel, Newquay. Not all boxes contain the exact foods. For example one box may contain ham whilst another will have corned beef. Snacks: An instant source of energy is Chocolate bars, or a cup of hot tea/coffee with biscuits. This keeps you energetic in the afternoons, when you are feeling a bit peckish. If you are a bit of a sweet tooth, why dont you nish your meal with A bowl of fruit salad Rice pudding
Irish Stew with noodles and potatoes Boil 1 packet of Chicken noodles in boiling water for 2 minutes. Bring 1 can of Irish stew to boil and add 1 can of boiled potatoes to it. Mix the boiled noodles to it, and serve while it is hot.
Tools of the trade A basic list of essential equipments to have on hand will be, 1. Tin can opener 2. Collander/strainer 3. Multipurpose pan 4. Slotted spoon/spatula 5. Multi purpose knives 6. Light whisk
Fish Pie
Mix the tomato sauce and the tuna and place in a baking tray . Slice the boiled potatoes and top the sh and tomato mix with them. Bake in a hot oven for 15 minutes and enjoy your meal.
Desserts
Fruit Crumble
Mix the canned fruit with orange juice and a table spoon of sugar in a baking tray. Crumble some biscuit crumbs over it, and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Enjoy. and now for something different!
