Method Statement for the Installation

Objective The objective of this method statement is to describe the procedures for the installation of the HV Switchgear. Preliminaries The HV Switchgear delivered & installed is to be accordance to the relevant specifications as detailed in the approved technical submission. Prior to installation of the HV Switchgear, area for HV Switchgear to be cleared of debris & obstruction. Plinths (if applicable) are to be ready.

The HV Switchgear supplier shall be involved in the complete delivery and installation of the HV Switchgears at its respective locations. The approved or latest revision drawing must be provided to the installation terms for installation works. Procedures 1. 2.

Ensure that site access and location is cleared and free of debris and obstruction. Ensure that height clearance for hoisting of HV switchgear is catered all the respectively destined floor where the switchgear to be off-loaded. Mark out all relevant positions or locations shown on the working drawings for installation to proceed.

Prior to assembly of the switchgear, the panel will be check in section with 1, 2, 3 as reference to the approved drawings. Position the panel section on the plinth (if applicable) follow by 1, 2, 3 from right to left.

Tighten the switchgear panel to the plinth (if applicable) using the following bolts and nuts.

Jointing the busbar section by section and all nuts must be properly torque with markings as follows:

Safety Precautions 1. To barricade all work areas relating to the works inclusive of the designated areas for parking of lorry crane and unloading of the switchgears. To wear proper protection equipment (PPE) for personal safety. To confirm that the documentation for the lifting gear equipment is valid.

LV Switchgears

Objective The objective of this method statement is to describe the procedures for the installation of the LV Switchgear. Preliminaries The LV Switchgear delivered & installed is to be accordance to the relevant specifications as detailed in the approved technical submission. Prior to installation of the LV Switchgear, area for LV Switchgear to be cleared of debris & obstruction. Plinths (if applicable) are to be ready. The LV Switchgear supplier shall be involved in the complete delivery and installation of the LV Switchgears at its respective locations. The approved or latest revision drawing must be provided to the installation terms for installation works. Procedures 1.

Oil Type Transformers

Objective The objective of this method statement is to describe the procedures for the installation of the Oil Type Transformers. Preliminaries The Oli Type Transformers delivered & installed is to be accordance to the relevant specifications as detailed in the approved technical submission. Prior to installation of the Oil Type Transformers, area for Oil Type Transformers to be cleared of debris & obstruction. Plinths (if applicable) are to be ready. Check the nameplate ratings of the transformers, and any special instructions concerning auxiliary apparatus with those on the approved drawings. The approved or latest revision drawing must be provided to the installation terms for installation works. Procedures 1. Prior installation and hoisting, check for possible damage or contamination during shipment or storage.

Ensure that site access and location is cleared and free of debris and obstruction.

Ensure that height clearance for hoisting of Oil Type Transformers catered at all the respectively destined floor where the Transformer to off-loaded. Mark out all relevant positions or locations shown on the working drawings for installation to proceed.

Position the transformer enclosure on the plinth (if applicable) and tig the enclosure to the plinth (if applicable) using floor anchor and bolts. Inspect the transformer and auxiliary equipment for alignment and tightness of foundation bolts and fixings in general.

Jointing of the busbars or cables and all nuts must be properly torque with markings. Inspect the earthing bolts and connections to the earth bar.

Inspect the bolting to the neutral connection and ensure transformer neutral correctly connected to earth as per TT or TN-S system. Confirm the transformer tap changer ratio. Verify that the transformer phasing matches the incoming busduct or cable phasing.

Cleanliness within the transformer enclosure is to be achieved. All installation debris are to be removed from transformer upon completio of installation. All interior are to be vacuum cleaned thoroughly and th enclosure is closed before energisation.

Prior energizing of transformer, carry out a visual check on the confor of tightening, at the joints and the connections to the transformers and switchboards.

14.

Transformer supplier to conduct relevant transformer tests (E.g. wind resistance test, winding insulation test, winding pressure test, transfor auxiliary equipment test, etc) Engage a Licensed Electrical Worker to energize the transformer. Transformers when operating correctly will have a moderate hum. Excessive noise may be an indication of hardware that has not been tightened correctly or of metal parts that have been improperly assembled.

Occurrence of sparking at any point of the transformer is not a norma condition. De-energize the transformer immediately and correct the

cause immediately. Replace faulty parts and re-conduct an insulation resistance test again before attempting to energize again.

Cable pulling of HT Cable & Testing Method

Objective The objective of this method statement is to describe the preparation, delivery and installation of Cable pulling of HT Cable & Testing Method

Preliminaries

The cables delivered and installed is to be accordance to the relevant specifications as detailed in the approved technical submission. Prior to installation of cables, all cable support system must be checked and clean. Ensure all cable supports are clear of debris etc. for installation of HT cables. The approved or latest revision drawing must be provided to the installation teams for the installation works. Procedures 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

Check insulation of HT Cables using HT Insulation tester before layin cables Use proper cable drum s jack & stand to hold cable drum Ensure that one worker is stationed at every existing bend Use cable roller every 2M for pulling of HT Cable Cable clamps to be used before entering to board & transformer

Prior testing of HV cables, all cleatings, supports, backfilling of trench shall be completed. Earth connections must have been completed an tested.

Method Statement for the Installation

MSB/MCC/ FDB/ DBP

Objective The objective of this method statement is to describe the preparation, delivery and installation of LSB, MB, DB & LSBs (wall mounted)

Preliminaries The panels delivered and installed is to be accordance to the relevant specifications as detailed in the approved technical submission. Prior to installation of panels, the walls or ceiling soft-fit shall be plastered and painted if required before installation of panels. The riser/ switch room shall be completed with lockable door before panels can be installed for safety reasons. The approved or latest revision drawing must be provided to the installation teams for the installation works.

Cable ladder, tray and trunking installation

Objective The objective of this method statement is to describe the preparation, delivery and Cable ladder, tray and trunking installation

Preliminaries The cable trays/ trunkings/ ladders delivered and installed is to be accordance to the relevant specifications as detailed in the approved technical submission. Prior to installation of cable supports, the walls or ceiling soft-fit shall be plastered and painted if required before installation of cable support. The approved or latest revision drawing must be provided to the installation teams for the installation works.

Continuity and Earth Value Testing

Objective The objective of this method statement is to describe the procedures for

continuity and earth value testing Preliminaries The materials to be tested are to be in accordance to the relevant specifications as detailed in the approved technical submission. The approved or latest revision drawing must be provided to the installation teams for installation works. Procedures Continuity Test Procedures 1. 2. 3. All testing shall be done in accordance to CP 5 Appendix 6(L).

Ensure that testing points are clean and free from debris, mud, oil and water.

Using a calibrated digital ohmmeter, test all points where joints (e.g. r cable, cableclamp, thermo-welds etc) are present to ensure electrical continuity.

If no electrical continuity is found, disconnect the joint and remedy the problem before reconnection and testing.

For surface-mount type, all walls must be plastered or painted before installation of fitting. The approved or latest revision drawing must be provided to the installation teams for the installation works.

Prior to installation of receptacles, the walls or ceiling soft-fit shall be plastered and painted if required before installation of receptacles.
