Perfectly sealed sterile barrier systems

These days, the sterilization of medical instruments is by now a must in hospitals, doctors surgeries and laboratories. As such a proper handling of medical instruments begins even before sterilization by choosing the right packaging material and ensuring that the sterilie package is perfectly sealed. The sterilization of medical instruments begins with the packaging. That is to say that the packaging, and therefore also the validation of the packaging process, is crucial for guaranteeing sterility up to the point of use and for meeting quality standards. The ISO 11607-2 standard demands explicitly reproducible processes in order to achieve optimum and constant results at all times during Operation. The critical process parameters must be monitored continuously. If there is any deviation, the device must immediately switch itself off and indicate what the problem is. With 3M Steri-Lok 8523 and 8523CAL the sealing process can be validated in accordance to ISO 11607-2.
