Admiralty Digital Catalogue v1.

6 and Data Assessment Notes

New Functionality Demonstration

AVCS Folio & ENC Unit de-confliction in the Basket

AVCS tab: Improved usage band display. Data Assessment Notes Temporary & Preliminary (T&P) NMs

New usage band filters added to the display of individual ENC Units on the AVCS tab.

Data Assessment Notes are attached to all ENCs where the UKHOs ENC Assessment programme has identified a navigationally significant difference between the ENC and the equivalent Admiralty paper chart. When highlighted, individually or in Folios, cells with Notes are hatched.

When a Unit or Folio containing an ENC with a Data Assessment Note is added to the Basket, a Notes found! warning is displayed.

Within the Basket, ENCs with Data Assessment Notes are shown with warning text in the Notes column. Note that ENC Units and Folios must be expanded to the ENC cell level to see the warning text.

The full warning text can be displayed by clicking on the text in the Notes column in the basket. The full details of the differences between each ENC and the equivalent Admiralty paper chart are given in a file called Cellnotes.txt that is located in the INFO folder on the AVCS Base and Update CDs.

The Basket will not allow ENC Units to be added if they are part of an already selected Folio. If a Folio is added to the Basket, any ENC Units that it contains are automatically removed. This prevents products being ordered twice.

This check is automatically run when the Basket is saved and can be manually started with the tick button.

The displayed NMs can be filtered using the underlying chart scales. NMs without a chart reference can be displayed by pressing misc. T&P NMs. This button will be unavailable if there are no miscellaneous NMs. The T&P NMs tab shows all existing T&P NMs using the geographical limits of the charts that they affect.

Normal Catalogue searches, by point, area or route, can be performed on T&P NMs. Search results are displayed in the Products Found window, which includes a list of the charts affected by each NM and a link to view the NM text.

The text of the selected NMs can be viewed by clicking the View link. The NM text can be saved, in HTML format, or printed for inclusion in a passage plan. Related diagrams are not displayed and a reference to NMWebSearch or the AVCS CDs is provided. The displayed text includes a caution that the standard NM Bulletins are still required for SOLAS compliance.

The text of all the selected NMs can be viewed in a single list by clicking the View All link.
