Harry Conklin begins developing lubrication products. Harrys sons Jack and Bob incorporate their fathers business as Conklin Company, Inc. Conklin Research and Development department formulates a unique latex elastomeric technology. Rapid Roof is introduced; as the first liquid elastomeric roof coating, it becomes the pioneer product of the cool roofs industry by offering an innovative, fluid-applied system designed to save energy. Kwik Kaulk is developed as a complement to Rapid Roof. This unique caulking and sealant compound remains flexible. A partnership is created with TruFast Fastenersthe most innovative, customerservice-oriented supplier of quality Factory Mutual-approved fasteners made in the U.S.A . Metal Ready is developed. This rust-inhibiting primer provides a strong protective barrier against moisture and prohibits rust on metal surfaces. Rapid Roof II is derived from the original Rapid Roof formula and offers improved physical properties. Alumify is introduced as a premier aluminum coating and offers contractors yet another option to restore metal roofs and buildings. Hy-Crown Single Ply Membrane is introduced with DuPonts exclusive polymer to create a new industry.

Field leaders Charles W. and Judy Herbster purchase the Conklin Company from the Conklin family. They continue to develop the company on a strong foundation and sound business practices. BASF spray foam and Atlas boardstock become Conklin partners to better serve our contractors by providing the best insulation products on the market.

Rapid Roof III continues the tradition of value and performance as the third generation of Rapid Roof. Wall Kote is introduced as a durable, longlasting exterior coating for vertical walls. Its greater mil thickness offers unmatched protection. Flexion 50 mila copolymer alloy membrane is developed for Single Ply specifications.

PUMA is a patent-pending one-coat system, pioneering a new era in Poly-Urethane Modified Acrylics. Metal Ready Universal, a reformulation of Metal Ready Primer, debuts with anticorrosion technology and improved adhesion.

Equinox joins the Conklin systems formulated for cool weather application. PUMA XL is the latest innovation of the PUMA family with an extended warranty of up to 18 years. Conklin Membrane Coating System is a liquidapplied protective coating for aged Modified Bitumen, EPDM, TPO, PVC and CSPE roofs. This system can improve and extend the life of existing membrane, and sets the standards for the industry.

Benchmark premiers and raises the bar for industry standards for elastomeric roof coatings. Hundreds of millions of square feet are protected by this new technology.
