The Chalice
The Call
of Oklahoma. We anticipate lots of Southwest Airline miles in our future. Im experiencing a myriad of emotion in these final days in Oklahoma: excitement, sadness, joy, and anticipation to name a few. Its hard to face the reality that there simply isnt enough time to properly say goodbye to everyone I love here. The words of two favorite authors encourage me now. Donald Miller provides the gentle reminder We get one story, you and I, and one story alone. God has established the elements, the setting and the climax and the resolution. It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldnt it? While Frederick Buechners words help me face the reality of goodbye: You can kiss your family and friends goodbye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you. Change is not always easy, but it is always a chance to embrace the mystery of God. So I do. Because it is time to turn the page, trust the great Author, and venture out. I do so knowing First Christian will forever live in me.
Happy Birthday!
