Joshua connolly Formal proposal Title of magazine For my magazine I have came up with a name that I feel suits

my audience and genre, CBA. This is an abbreviated term know in the teen culture as cant be arsed this laid back attitude suits my audience as when there bored and cant be arsed to do anything theyll read my magazine. It will actually stand for charts best artists which will be made clear under the title afte it has caught the attention of the readers. Choice of genre My choice of genre is indie/rock as I am personally interested in this genre and feel it is a strong well know genre which nearly everyone listens to even if its just one artist. Its a wide variety of artists and opens me up to endless possibilities when talking about artists and more importantly upcoming artists. My target audience My target audience is around the ages of 16 to 25 this will enable me to hit the biggest market of music listeners as those in education will be advertising the magazine for me through word of mouth and leaving an issue sin a classroom. I feel that indie rock listeners are mainly around this age group as well. Initial ideas for a front cover Following my research and what I have found I ffel that I would be best suited to create a plain looking front cover very neet and not so in your face with cover lines and sell lines. I think that I will be using one main image on the front cover with a very unique font for the coverlines which will be placed to the left hand side of the image. The logo will be boldly places in the centre at the top of the page and therefore catching the eye sight of those readers in shops on the magazine stands. Initial ideas for my contents page My contents page will have multiple images on it of bands showing what each page has in it this will easily convey the content of the pages. However I will use one main image on this page which will dominate it this will be of the band featuring in the main image. I will include contrasting colours to help the audience easily identify artists and page numbers like they have done in the NME magazine. It will have the logo placed at the top aswell with date underneath to clarify which issue it is. Initial ideas for my double page spread My double page spread will be of one artist/band to signify there importance and they will obviously be one of the main images on the front cover or contents page to stick with continuity. I feel that a photo of this artist on a plain background would be ideal so that the text isnt made hard to read as I would like to keep to black font rather than straying to another colour. The article will be a personal interview with the artist to give the audience an insight into there life.

Joshua connolly Initial ideas for photography my photography The majority of the photography I use would preferably be with a plain background so I cna experiment easily with effects and positioning of the image. If this is not achievable I will have to use photshop to create the look I was hoping for however I fear this will not have the same natural appearance that unedited photos do. On my front page I will have a dominating image of an artist who will also be featured on the double page spread. I will need multiple images for my contents page and therefore need to be flexible on the quality without making it look bad. Some photos that I have already got for my magazine are featured here:
