Why attend this workshop? Decisions taken affecting global health are taken on a global level in international decision making forums. The IFMSA as the a global federation is in an optimal position to inuence these decisions but to do requires a basic understanding on international relations and global governance. This Pre-GA will be a crash course, for those who are likely to go on to lead or be on delegations to major international summits, be it individuals thinking of running to be a liaison ofcer or those who wish to take part in major policy meetings that are going on within in their country or region. It will seek to build IFMSAs capacity internationally and ensure a new generation of global health ambassadors uent in the language of foreign policy. The workshop will provide a theoretical overview of international relations theory, the role of health in foreign policy. It will contain practical training in media skills, policy brief writing an negotiation analysis to assist participants in being effective young health representatives on a global stage. The sessions will be delivered by academics, diplomats, UN and NGO staff with experience of working on these issues at an international level, from the NCD declaration to the Rio+20 summit.

We will be seeking support of the WHO, who will hopefully be issuing certicates to participants completing the pre-ga. What will your learn if you attend this Pre-GA?
