New Years Day Communion service Epiphany Sunday Studies in the Book of Revelation from chapter 4 onwards

Another new years here. Whats new about it, though? A day will still be 24 hours long, night will follow day, winter will pass, and season will follow season, and we will grow older, not newer. Circumstances dont change. There is an essential sameness to them. Theres only one way to have a new year. We have to gain newness on the inside. As the Bible says, If anyone is in Christ, that person will be a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). Question is, do you want that kind of newnessto be new from the inside out. This kind of radical change is not what people want. They just want a little whitewashing, a bit of tweaking, a minor facelift. But I want you to have a happy new year. Since your happiness depends on your becoming new yourself, my wish for you is that you discover the reality of Christ Jesus this year. See what will happen if you let the Lord Jesus really run your life. Dont just run to Him to fix things that are damaged in your life. Let Him tell you what to do before you ever do something. The trouble is most people will not try Jesus. They are willing to try any new guru, any new mantra, any new gimmick. But they will ignore Jesus. They will try anything and everything, but they will not taste and see that the Lord is good. All the wishes for a happy new year will do you no good, if you are not willing to try Jesus. I wish you would try Jesus and have a happy new year. Love, Kuru

Birthdays in January

Cynthia has moved to Benares while recovering from a medical condition that drains her of energy. Dorcas recovered from a stomach ailment Rev J T Raja has been rather unwell after Christmas Sumitabh is battling backache. Anshuman down with fever. Rufus healed of knee pain, had a good Christmas vacation at home Salomi Tamang is happy with her performance at her exams Vibha wants to spend her time teaching underprivileged kids in her neighbourhood. Greg wants to find on-line work to support the family Sweata, Supriya, Armaan and Sweatas mother have gone to Kerala so that Sweatas father can see Armaan for the first time. Shobha has gone to Ballia with her mother and Arpit and Arpita Gregs bro has committed his life to Jesus and is in counseling to save his marriage St Pauls School has completed 25 years, serving village children, especially girls who would otherwise not have been able to get an education. Allipur Grace Bible Church is a fruit of the work Rev Raja has been doing in the villages in that area.

Christian giving is a matter of stewardship: an acknowledgment of Gods ownership. a token of our gratitude an expression of love for God. Tithing, giving 10% of all income to God, captures all these moods of giving. But Christians are to go beyond the minimum. Excel in giving. Grace Bible Church exists for

worship, fellowship, nurture and mission.
