North American Mission Board Mission Service Corp News from Randy and Ronda Corn

1 Corinthians 13:2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
It is said that in the life of a Christian, we should be able to look back and see what lessons we learned in our walk. 2012 has been a remarkable year with many winding turns and opportunities to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Of course the Christmas season gives reason for reflections and especially this year as we arrived home just in time for the celebrations with family. The song Ill be home for Christmas was authentic to the Corns this year as we arrived two days before! As with many things in our society, we are what we see and hear other people say whether it be media, church, friends, or politicians; it all causes us to form our belief system. For many that is simply it, there seems to be no searching for biblical truth or asking God to reveal truth to us; we simply go on what seems best for us in the short term and/or what others say. This has been a very real burden in 2012 as we see many being deceived and living by world values. Sometimes we actually wonder, is there any real truth left. Like bona fide, solid, unmovable truth? And our answer is yes, there is Biblical truth and no other. Every issue, every answer we need, every problem both now and eternally can be solved with spending time with our Father God and in His inerrant Word. That is the simple truth and the one truth we find that is unchangeable and serene. John 14:6, Jesus says, I am the way the truth and the life and no comes to the father, except thru me. As we look back on this year, the one truth that God has shown us is the majority of people all over the world have the same desire. Yes, there are color differences, society differences, moral differences, religious differences but all in all, people all over the world have some common themes. For the most part, each one wanting to live, have joy, raise families and exist peacefully with others in the world. God has opened our eyes to this in our travels. We have traveled and ministered in the Middle East, to the far North West, to the far North East and everywhere we go we find people with different cultural and religious backgrounds all wanting the same, to know and feel loved. God has opened our eyes to see people as He sees them, with the veils of prejudices removed, they are people who need to know Him. Yes, Jesus, the one told of in Isaiah 53, the One born to serve mankind, the One born to die but raised from the dead that we may live. His one mission in life was freely and purposely lived out for us. He lived, He loved, He gave His life for mankind. That is all of mankind, not just those we would pick and choose, but ALL. The scripture says in Romans 10: 13-15 For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As many of you may know, the last couple of months have been spent in New Jersey and New York serving in Disaster Relief from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Once again we have talked with people who desire to know him but who have not heard. One of the common sayings we continue to hear is that we were not raised in a religious family and we were not taught about the bible and the hope that you speak of. We also hear thank you so much for caring, for bringing the Light to our part of the world. Your kindness, compassion and generosity overwhelm us. We are touched by your prayers for us and you have restored our faith

in humanity. You have inspired us and changed us. You are Jesus! It has been such a rewarding time to work in the midst of so many that do not know or have never personally heard about Jesus and what He did for us. Our prayer is for the deception of so many to be changed into the recognition of who Jesus is and what He did for us. The bible says that the truth will set you free. God has given us a phenomenal year packed full of ministry. Serving under our National Team at the North American Mission Board, we have trained over 1,800 Disaster Relief volunteers in evangelism and (OSFA) operational stress first aid. We served almost a month in Israel with our fellow servant and dear friend, Teresa McMillan, teaching and sharing the gospel. We led a mission team from our home church Biltmore Baptist to Benton, TN where we did several types of ministry. Ronda went with our dear friend, Donna Guillot, on a mission trip to Canada to serve with a new church plant in Vancouver, BC. We served in Colorado with fire cleanup at Eagle Lake Camp for the Navigators. We most recently have served in NJ/ NY with the hurricane Sandy response and honored to work with hundreds of college students working in disaster relief, watching them bridge the gap of age, society and religious beliefs! An amazing year full of God stories and watching His Mighty Hand work in the lives of believers and non-believers. Financially, this year has been a stretch from month to month, although God has providentially seen us through every step of the way and we have learned a greater dependence through trusting Him. We continue to seek His will in our lives and He continues to make our paths straight while opening doors to serve Him thru many different venues. We love it and covet your prayers for His work to continue in us, deepening our relationship with Him and working to make His Kingdom come. We thank God for those who have been faithful partners with us in the Gospel and ask those who have not, would you prayerfully consider supporting our ministry in 2013? In the end, our lesson for this year is 1 Corinthians 13:2 if we have not love, we are nothing. We are asking God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to love through us as we are not capable of loving as we should. That means asking Him to break our hearts for what breaks His, to love unconditionally as He does, for discernment of people and their hurts and to reach out with a hand of love while sharing the Gospel of Jesus with everyone we meet. Bible prophesy leads us to believe that our time here on earth is winding down and so we leave you with this scripture John 9:4 We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. May we be found doing His Work! Our prayer for 2013 is for world deception to be overcome by recognition of Jesus Christ. May we live for this singular purpose: to make the glories and riches of Christ know to a lost and fallen world.
Colossians 3:14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
