TAMILNADU STATE COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (Autonomous body of Government of Tamilnadu) DOTE Campus, Chennai 600 025 JOINT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS (JSTP)

Proposals received under JSTP are recommended to DST, Govt. of India for financial assistance. The Council will act as a co-ordinator of the project and depending on the area/topic any one of the Officer of the Council will take up the role of nodal co-ordinator. This scheme is to promote R&D work having social relevance, significance and usefulness to our State. The major area of research may be in areas such as Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences & Engineering and Technology etc. Under this scheme, a financial assistance (30-50 lakhs) will be provided for a maximum period of 3 years to scientists and researchers working in the above field in any of the recognized Educational and Research Institutions in the state. The amount of assistance will be decided by the expert committee, DST, Govt. of India Only location specific problems and/or demonstration in nature specific to our state which can be solved using science and technology tools will be given consideration under the scheme. Therefore, any proposal on basic research will not be considered. Proposal received under JSTP will be subjected to initial screening in the Council. Only those proposals which are considered feasible and worthwhile will be recommended to Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India for their consideration and financial assistance. 10 copies of Joint Science and Technology Projects in the prescribed format along with required enclosures may be sent to Member Secretary, Tamilnadu State Council For Science And Technology, DOTE Campus, Chennai 600 025.
