Increasing demands for sound (wide band, polyphonic), power performance, quality and reliability (zero-defect policy) as well as miniaturization are the current trends. In close collaboration with our excellent partners and suppliers AAC, Vansonic, Chinasound, and KOTL, we provide solutions for any challenge. The following information list a major portion of our most popular acoustic components. For demands of other versions, modifications, and assemblies as well as detailed technical information, please contact us. We have a wide experience in automotive and telecom designs, most of our suppliers are TS16949 certified.

1 | sOuND GeNerATOrs

endrich provides piezoelectric and electromagnetic sound generators of two suppliers: AAC and CHINASOUND. AAc American Audio components Ltd. started in 1993 and gained leading technical expertise in design and production. Today it is one of the worlds leading manufacturers specialized in acoustic components, especially full range of transducers, speakers, receivers, microphones, headsets and vibrators for various industries. AAC is partnered with some of world-famous brands to produce quality acoustic components. AAC is a TS16949, ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified manufacturer backed by the staff of 8,000 persons. The factories are located in Changzhou and Shenzhen with a production area over 90,000m2 and a production capacity of more than 1 million pcs./day.

changzhou chinASound electronics co., Ltd. is an ISO9001, TS16949 certified and well experienced company, continuously focusing on research, development and production of acoustic components since 1996. Main products are piezoelectric electromagnetic sound generators, mylar speakers and alarm systems for audio and many other applications.

1.1 PieZOeLecTric TrANsDucers AND BuZZers

The advantage of these simple structured acoustic components are their robustness and cost-efficient sound solution. Piezo sound generators are the ideal choice for applications, which need a simple sound signal within a small frequency range, e. g. warning and control sound signals of kitchen devices, medical and health care products. The dimension range of piezo sound generators starts from the miniaturized size of 11 mm 9 mm 1.7 mm up to 45 mm and covers sounds in a range from low soft to aggressive noisy sound. The design of almost all piezoelectric sound generators is adjusted to meet the most popular frequency range between 2000 Hz and 5000 Hz. Operation temperature is available from -40C to +120C. Standard voltage range is between 3 V and 12 V, in special cases, according to customers demand, higher voltages are possible. Piezoelectric sound generators are available with pins, wires or SMD pads.

the heart of all piezoelectric sound generators is a simple piezoceramic disc, consisting of a ceramic disc, glued together with a metal ground plate. If the disc is driven by an external oscillating circuit, the piezo sound generator is called piezo-electric transducer. If the disc is driven by a built-in oscillating circuit its called piezoelectric buzzer.

1.2 PieZOeLecTric sPeAKers

A piezoelectric speaker is a smart combination of a flexible sound supporting plastic diaphragm and a piezoceramic disc. This simple structured and lightweight component is capable of providing a wider frequency range than standard piezo sound generators and achieves aggressively loud Sound Pressure Levels (SPL). Combined with a clever designed housing, SPL over 110 dB at 2 m are possible. This performance makes the piezoelectric speaker the perfect choice for alarm and siren devices.

1.3 PieZOcerAMic eLeMeNTs

the piezoceramic element is the heart of every piezoelectric sound generator. In general it consists of a piezoceramic layer, glued together with a flexible metal plate. An alternating electric signal, connected between metal plate and ceramic layer, causes the vibration of the piezo element by means of the piezo effect. Different diameters and frequencies are available upon request.

1.4 eLecTrOMAGNeTic TrANsDucers

electromagnetic sound generators consist of a swinging metal diaphragm driven by an electromagnetic circuit. These transducers are small and provide a wider frequency range compared with piezoelectric sound generators. They are the right choice for applications, where different frequencies are used to create different sounds.

Typical applications are kitchen devices, medical and health care accessories, cellular phones, PDS, etc. In general, electromagnetic sound generators have a higher current consumption than piezo sound generators but they need lower voltage to achieve their maximum SPL output.

electromagnetic buzzers consist of an electromagnetic transducer with a built-in oscillation circuit. They have the same specific characteristics as electromagnetic transducers but you can drive them just with DC voltage. In general, electromagnetic buzzers are preferable, if the efforts to create an external oscillation circuit are too expensive.

Our portfolio meets all needs for high quality speakers or low cost series for sound reproduction in various electronic products, e. g. automotive park distance control and alarm sound, cellular phones, telephones, laptops, PDAs, MP3 players, general electronics. endrich cooperates with 3 suppliers for dynamic loudspeakers: AAC, CHINASOUND and VANSONIC. AAC and CHINASOUND were already introduced under item 1 on page 4. Vansonic enterprise co., Ltd. Founded in 1981, with more than 21 years of experience in the field of acoustics and speaker technology, a strong commitment to research and development, plus an ISO9001:2000 and TS16949 standard of production, today Vansonic is highly regarded speaker manufacturer recognized around the world.

With solid know-how and state-of-the-art-laboratories, equipped with the latest measurement equipment for acoustical research and development, Vansonic is able to design and to solve problems in the field of electro-acoustics competently and reliably. ODM and OEM are most welcome. With its strength in research and development, backed by world-class production, Vansonic manufactured speakers for the computer, telecom, automotive and consumer industries are appreciated everywhere. Vansonic is especially strong with speakers for applications where particular space and power consumption conditions are required, e. g. notebook. Their speakers are found in most notebooks in the world. Vansonic employs a group of committed R&D engineers focusing on the development of new products. The two main factories in China are located in Foshan, Guangdong and in Jiading District, Shanghai with 2,800 employees. The production area is 15,000 m2, the production capacity 200,000 pcs./day.

endrich provides a variety of dynamic speakers with surface mount, lead wire, pin and spring terminals without or with custom designed connectors. The product range comprehends several round (10 to 57 mm) and rectangular shapes (2514 to 5050 mm) and assembled according to custom design. These loudspeakers are availabe with impedances from 4 to 150 , rated input power from 0.005W to 5 W in a frequency range from 200 Hz to 20 kHz at an operation temperature range of -40 C to +85 C (special designs up to +120 C).

endrich provides a wide range of microphones from 2 suppliers: AAC and VANSONIC. Two kinds of microphones can be offered: one is the reflow solderable silicon type as listed below, which features like highly shock-, temperature, and vibration resistance. The other type is the well-known electret condenser microphone distinguished by high sensitivity and high efficiency (high-tone quality). endrich lately also offers a SMD electret condenser microphone for the reflow soldering process. The microphones provided are characterized by following different directivities: omni-directional, uni-directional or bi-directional (noise cancelling).

3.1 siLicON TYPe MicrOPHONe

Small sized reflow solderable silicon SMd type microphone with high stability in performance, robustness and high reliability is suited for low voltage operation at operating and storage temperatures between -40C and +85C. Showing high resistance against soldering heat (260C, 30 s). Silicon microphone can be used in automotive accessories, cellular phones, telephones, laptops, PDAs, MP3, general electronics.

reflow solderable SMd electret Condenser Microphones (SMD ECMs) are frequently used as alternative for silicon types, if it refers to the realization of inexpensive voice communication solutions. They are in telephone systems, free speech mechanisms, language controls or also noise recognition systems within the industrial range use. The microphones are suitable for the automatic assembly in the reflow procedure, the recommended maximum peak temperature of 255 C. Sensitivities move also -42 dB to -45 dB (related to

1V/Pa) within the middle range. Where this is not sufficient, also different sensitivity values are available on request. SMD ECMs are available with 4 mm and 6 mm in diameter and different overall heights. The power input amounts to max. 500 A (with wiring in acc. with product data sheet), the S/N ratio at least 58 dB and the maximum input sound pressure level 110 dB. The transducer behavior is linear in the frequency range from at least 30 Hz to 16 kHz.
