What Is The True Name of GOD

THE DEFINITION The word GOD is not a name but a title, which stands for the status of an object of worship. When something is worshiped with belief in its divinity, we call it GOD, whether it is the true or false GOD. In Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary we can read under the word GOD:
Pronunciation: 'gd also 'god Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Old English; akin to Old High German got god Date: before 12th century 1 capitalized : the supreme or ultimate reality: as, a) the Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe b) Christian Science : the incorporeal divine Principle ruling over all as eternal Spirit : infinite Mind 2 : a being or object believed to have more than natural attributes and powers and to require human worship; specifically : one controlling a particular aspect or part of reality 3 : a person or thing of supreme value 4 : a powerful ruler

But what is the name of the true GOD, the CREATOR?

VARIOUS NAMES Almighty GOD, our Creator is called upon in different names according to various languages and cultures. In Sanskrit (the sacred language of Hinduism, going back about 5000 years), His name is Kooda. From the word Kooda was derived the word Khodah, which is the name of GOD in Persian. This became God in English and Got in German. In Italian, it is Dio, which similar to other European languages such as: Deus in Portuguese, Dieu in French, Dies in Spanish, Dievs in Latvian, Dievas in Lithuanian, Dia in Scotch and Irish, Duw in Welsh, and Deity in English. The names of GOD here are derived from the Greek word Deus means Heaven which is originally came from Sanskrit word Dyaus for heaven and it is an attribute describing GOD's highness but not a name!! And we can find in other languages more words for GOD, like in Philippine, is Bathala, Gino-o or Diyos (also derived from the Greek word of Heaven). In Malayalam (one of the languages of the Indian sub-continent) the word for God is Kartave to Christians or Daivum to Hindus. In Tamil (one of Indian languages), is

Andauaneh. In Gujarat (one of Indian languages), is Matadi. In Karnataka (one of Indian languages), is Daewaroh. In Indonesia, is Tuhan. In Swahili, is Mungu. In Hungarian, is Isten. In Finnish, is Jumala. In Estonian, is Jumal. In Polish, is Bog. In Czech, is Buuh and so on. However, the true name of God is none of these, because they are all merely translations of the word, "GOD".

JESUS We cannot say that the name of GOD is Jesus, because this is name of a man, the son of Mary, who is not the Creator, but GOD is not a man (Numbers 23:19) 1. Even the name Jesus is not unique, but a common name, according to BIBLE DICTIONARY-CONCORDANE under JESUS CHRIST at the end of King James Version, Copyright1962 by Thomas Nelson Inc:
Since Jesus was a fairly common name in the first century.

We are asking about the GOD of Jesus, because we read in John 20:17: Jesus saith , I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. 2 And we read in Luke 6:12: And it came to pass in those days, that he [Jesus] went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. 3 Who is that GOD, whom Jesus was worshiping?! What is the true name of that GOD? THE FATHER Some call him the Father, but is Father a name? Of course not, the word father is also a description or title! It might imply the meaning of love but it is not a name. In Matthew 6:9 we find: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy NAME. 4 But what NAME? What is the name of the Father? JEHOVAH Some use the word Jehovah (used only after 15th CE) 5 which is a mispronunciation of the Hebrew word YAHWEH. YAHWEH is not a name but it simply means Oh He! (Oh!=Ya!, He=Hu/Hweh).6

YAHWEH is written in shorthand YHWH ( .)Even Hebrews do not read this form, but instead use the word HASHEM (means the Name) or ADONAI (means my Lord), and is also not a name but a title.7 However, the Scholars discovered that the word Yahweh itself is not a Hebrew but of unknown origin.8 Encyclopedia Britannica, the 1911 Edition stated under the word JEHOVAH:
. . . using the name Hebrew in the historical sense, Yahweh is not a Hebrew name.

That means this word is not acceptable because of its unauthentic origin. The Sixth Edition of Columbia Encyclopedia has stated under Names for God:
The reconstruction Jehovah was based on a mistake, and the form Yahweh is not now regarded as reliable.

THE SEMITIC NAME We have still not come to the true name of GOD. To know His name, we need to know which name the Prophets were using! We must look at the languages of the Prophets, in Hebrew (the language of most of the Israelite Prophets like Moses, David, Solomon, Elijah, Elisha ...and so on), the name of God is Elohim. The word Elohim consists of Eloh + im. Im is plural form denoting respect. Eloh means God which is similar to the ancient Mesopotamian language of Ilu (in use over 7000 years ago) and also similar to the old Hebrew name for God Alah.

In Aramaic (the language of the Prophet Jesus and his disciples), the name of God is Allah.10 Wikipedia Encyclopedia stated under the word ALLAH:
The Aramaic for God is also Allah, therefore it is extremely likely that Jesus Christ also used this word in his teachings.

In Arabic (the language of the Prophet Muhammad), the name of God is also Allah. Encyclopedia Britannica, the 1911 Edition stated under the word ALLAH:
ALLAH, the Arabic name used by Moslems of all nationalities for the one true GodThe same word is found in Hebrew and Aramaic as well as in ancient Arabic (Sabaean).

Arabs are Semitic people and not only the Israelites. Arabs are the descendants of Ishmael, the son of Abraham and brother of Isaac, the forefather of Israelites.

Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic are derived from one Semitic language that was spoken by Shem/Sam son of the Prophet Noah. So now we can know the true name of God, which has been maintained in Arabic language until today - that is: ALLAH. The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume XIII stated under SEMITES: Physically, also, the Semitic form it is found in
Arabia. Here also the phonetics and partly also the grammatical structure of the Semitic language, are most purely, as the vocabulary is most completely, preserved. From these as well as from other circumstances the conclusion has been drawn that Arabia should be considered the original home of the Semitic peoples.

And it continued to say about Arabs: The most powerful branch of the Semitic group of
peoples, are indigenous to Central and Northern Arabia, where even to-day the original character is most purely preserved.

ALLAH ALLAH is the true and unique name of GOD, which Muslims11 use. Whatever their languages or cultures, they call Him the same name, ALLAH. When a Muslim begins any good thing he invokes blessing by using the true name of GOD. He says: BismiALLAH, which means: "In the name of Allah. And when he finishes a work, he thanks GOD by name, saying: Al-hamdu li-ALLAH, which means: all praise is due to ALLAH. We can also find instruction for this in the Holy Bible, 1 Chronicles 16:8: Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon HIS NAME [i.e., ALLAH] 12 Moreover, the Arabic Christian Bible uses the word ALLAH for God throughout, as, for example, in the first verse (Genesis 1:1): Fil-bad'i, khalaqa ALLAH us-samawati wal-ardh, which means: In the beginning, Allah created the heavens and the earth. This is the name by which our Lord calls Himself. His name, ALLAH, is repeated hundreds of times throughout the Holy Qur'an; to illustrate, in Surah al-Ikhlaas (Chapter 112): } {

Say: He is ALLAH, the One; ALLAH, the eternally besought of all. He begets not nor was begotten. And there is none comparable unto Him.
