SHIRVAN gas turbine power plant is located approximately at 9 km north of SHIRVAN. 3. AMBIENT AND SITE CONDITIONS

The SHIRVAN gas turbine power plant consists of 6X159 MW (at ISO condition) gas turbines. SCOPE

The purpose of this document is to describe fuel heating and steam tracing, which ensures prevention of gas oil from freezing and maintains the gas oil temperature sufficiently 10 C above pour point, and makes it suitable for pumping and burning in turbines burners. 5. 6. AUXILIARY BOILER The heating should be sufficient to keep temperature of gas oil in pipeline at least 10C above the pour point. Gas oil storage tank will be kept at 12C.This temperature is required to guarantee the gas oil temperature at delivery point to turbine supplier at least 10C above pour point. For this purpose, one 100% capacity auxiliary boiler unit (capacity 6 ton/hr) with superheated steam(pressure:6 bar(a) & temperature:180C) is provided for whole power plant, to supply the auxiliary steam requirement for gas oil heating such as one gas oil tank heating, steam trace heating of fuel pipelines. Steam is delivered from auxiliary boiler to a main header and divided to necessary purposes in gas oil system. Auxiliary boiler building contains the below mentioned equipment and utilities: - 1x100% Auxiliary boiler - 2x100% Make up water pumps - Deaerator -Make up water tank ( capacity :35 m3) -Condensate tank ( capacity :40 m3) -Gas oil daily tank ( capacity :4 m3) -2x100% gas oil pumps 7. STEAM DISTRIBUTION All Gas Oil piping are traced by means of DN 15 steel pipes on the pipe length parallel to pipe axis to keep Gas Oil temperature above Gas Oil pour point. For this purpose steam is delivered from auxiliary boiler to a main header. From the main header a pipe is branched for steam tracing of unloading pump house, unloading bay (after unloading tank) and unloading trench. Another branch has been foreseen to supply steam to forwarding pump house ,trench between forwarding

and pipe rack and pipe rack due to steam trace and cleaning purpose. After these braches the main header will be routed toward tank farm in order to heating gas oil tank and tank yard pipes. To meet this purpose a steam coil is implemented in each fuel oil storage tank in order to warm the gas oil and maintain its temperature at 12 C under worst condition. The steam coil contains two branches and it`s pipe is A106 GR.B with SCH 80 and DN 125. For pipe size of smaller than or equal to DN 125 one DN 15 tracing pipe has been foreseen and for pipe size of larger than DN 125 two DN 15 tracing pipes have been foreseen (table 1).The steam tracers arrangement for different pipe sizes have been presented in the next pages. Thickness and specification of insulating material are explained in specification for material and installation of insulation and cladding for BOP system. MP-SVG-50GE-11-PTZ-001. Due to the operating temperature of gas oil the specified insulation thickness for fuel pipes should be considered.

For future development isolating valves have been considered for steam & condensate lines.

8. FEEDING STEAM After heat transfer between steam and gas oil, steam is converted into condensate therefore a fresh steam tracer should be provided each 30~50 m. To meet this purpose a steam feed panel is provided at intervals of 60~100 m. Necessary branches are drawn from this panel running in both directions. Each steam tracing line is provided with isolating gate valve at the panel. 9. CONDENSATE RETURN SYSTEM All condensate which have been produced due to the heat transfer between steam and gas oil to keep the fuel temperature in 12C, are directed to condensate headers after passing through the steam traps at trap panels. Since at different ambient temperature, all steam may or may not be fully condensed, from economical consideration, and also to prevent mixing steam with condensate and in order to avoid cavitations, at end of each tracing line, in condensate panel one thermodynamic steam trap with strainer is laid .Condensate will be collected from each tracer at the opposite side.Distance between condensate panels is 60-100 m as shown delow. For maintenance purpose each trap has two isolating valve and a by pass valve. All of condensates collected from one panel, is directed via a main panel line to condensate return headers. All condensate panels are isolated by a valve from the condensate header. 10. CONDENSATE RECOVERY SYSTEM All condensate return headers are led to condensate recovery Tank. It is a horizontal tank with capacity of 40 m3 and located above ground . There are two centrifugal pumps with flow rate 15 m3/h and 20 m.w.c (one in service and other standby ) to transfer condensate from recovery tank to make up water tank in Aux. Boiler building. The capacity of condensate collection tank shall be large enough for collecting all condensate and for flashing the condensate return to decrease cavitation at condensate recovery pump. 11. PIPE MATERIAL The material of pipes for steam headers, tracers and condensate recovery lines shall be A106 GR.B, seamless type. For pipe sizes less than DN65 the pipe sch. shall be XS and for DN 65 and larger STD.
