18 December 2012 Dear all, Thank you to all the people and organisations who have supported ECYCC in recent months. As always we are grateful for their kindness and we have some nice updates to report on: We had the opportunity to go live on a Xhosa Radio Station recently, where Thandi Mblani, spokes person and Treasurer of the ECYCC Management Board, could speak about our cause, what we do and who we are. This turned out good for the centre, as we won Pep stores as well as Shoprite vouchers in order to buy all the children new school clothes and stationary for the next school year. Each child will have the opportunity to try and on choose their own gear, properly for the first time ever. Other exciting news is that we have a full house currently, lots of laughter and fun, big and small, little feet paddling around the home. Our baby room is overflowing with the youngest a very cute little girl, 5 month old Olwam. She is of course the cutest little baby and we feel honored to give her a special time as this would be her first Christmas. Her little borther, Calvin 2y old, is also living at the centre since. Other newcomers are: Aseko 5y old, Anile 14y old, both girls, and brothers Jason 12y, Nico 9y and little Adam 5y old. Renier 14y old is also new at the centre. New and old children, we have altogether 15 children residing at the centre this Christmas.

Much needed items for the home are: Cleaning materials, bread spreads, cereals, fresh fruit and veg, toiletries (soap, toothpaste,Vaseline), general stuff like maize meal, sugar, tea, etc. Any donations will be welcome. Cash donations towards the running costs of the home, staff allowances and other, will be greatly appreciated. We have a volunteer from Germany, Sophia, at the centre until March 2013. Sophia arrived here early November and we appreciate this gentle and kind person, not taking a break from the home, chores and the children even on a Sunday. We all came to love Sophia and will miss her dearly when its time for her to leave. Her sister will join the centre in January 2013 for two weeks. Please feel free to visit the Emmanuel centre at any time, meet the children and staff. We thank you for support whether financially or spiritually. Without faithful supporters we cannot do this work. We will also employ another staff member soon, a Auxiliary worker which will deal with all Psychosocial support issues of the children as well as dealing with outreach programs and community projects. All members, including myself, is working on a full time voluntary basis with a small volunteer allowance each month. This means we have some good people that are passionate about the cause and the children more so than a great income. We are thankful to God for bringing these angels on our path in order to care for the abused and neglected children of our community. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information. Kind regards Carol Deysel
