Josh Lord is the director of membership and strategic

initiatives at the Michigan Dental Association (MDA), a nonprofit health care professionals organization located in Okemos. Since 1856, the Michigan Dental Association has been Michigans oral health authority dedicated to the public and the profession. Josh Lord also specializes in a variety of services, including marketing, business process evaluation, social media campaigns and public relations. Josh Lord played a large role in making the MDA one of only seven state dental associations nationwide to increase its market share in 2010, thus far his brand management campaigns resulted in a 76 percent market share and a 98 percent renewal rating. As a result, the Michigan Dental Association represents 6,000 member dentists and 76 percent of Michigans licensed dentists. Lord is a five-time American Dental Association Golden Apple Award winner due to his efforts in membership recruitment and retention, student affairs and member service development. Prior to the Michigan Dental Association, Josh Lord worked as the media and member relations coordinator for the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA). As MMA Coordinator, Lord served as monthly contributor, under the byline of senior-level personnel, to MiBiz, a bi-weekly B2B publication. Josh Lord facilitated the launch of the associations YouTube channel, and was named lead writer for seven e-newsletters and co-lead writer and assistant editor for the MMA bi-monthly publication that was distributed to 6,000 member companies. Josh Lord came to MMA from The Rossman Group where he functioned as account executive for the public relations and communications firm. Lord executed numerous issue management campaigns using tactics, such as news conferences, media roundtables, editorial board meetings and radio tours, which defeated efforts to increase taxes on all Michigan telecomm providers. He served as a media contributor, and wrote viewpoints and opinion editorials published in prestigious publications including: The Detroit Free Press, Lansing State Journal, Michigan Chronicle and Oakland Press. Josh Lord earned a masters degree in integrative management and an undergraduate degree in communication with a specialization in public relations from Michigan State University. While still in school, Lord interned for two public relations and communications firms, The Rossman Group and Rathbun Public Relations, and for State Representative Joel Sheltrown. Josh Lord is involved in many unique efforts within the workplace and within community. He developed a 20-minute presentation, Life-Work Balance in 2012: It is Possible, which he presented at the 2012 Michigan Society of Association Executives OrgPro Conference. Josh Lord is frequently asked by many organizations to be a guest speaker on behalf of his accomplishments, he frequently visits Michigan State University to speak to students about job search strategies.
