Who are we and what do we do?

Cool Air Solutions is an air conditioning company with over twenty years experience in the Air Conditioning industry. Owned and operated by Christopher Walsh and Troy Burry, Cool Air has earned itself a reputation for providing: sound advice, quality air conditioners, superior installation as well as excellence in serving and after sales care. Cool Air Solutions takes pride of their high percentage of referral work.

History
After a friendship dating back to our Military days, and with a wide range of expertise in the Commercial HVAC sector, we finally decided to start our own company in 2006. We now have 15 full time employees servicing clients such as University of QLD, Coles and Woolworths.

Products and Services

Cool Air Solutions is a locally owned and operated business which excels in a range of services. Cool Air Solutions has successfully completed a range of jobs to their exact specifications for many different businesses and buildings. These range from apartment blocks, schools, night clubs, childcare centres, aged care homes and industrial areas. These projects include mechanical ventilation, evaporative cooling, humidification and dehumidification, heating and cooling. Cool Air Solutions has proudly undertaken a range of jobs for many Coles, Woolworths and K Mart centres around Queensland. With our dedicated team of in-house employees couple with a selected network of contracting staff we can provide a unique level of support for any project which means all requirements for refrigeration, sheet metal and electrical systems are met.

Client Work Summary

RSPCA New Head Office
The RSPCA project comprised of various buildings, which incorporated multiple VRV systems with a master controller for each building enabling on/off control of the individual heads. Exhaust fans were fitted into the kennels with manual off auto switches. In auto, the speed was controlled from a temperature sensor fitted inside the kennel. In manual, the speed was determined from a 0 - 10V pot, which was located next to the selectors switch. Our in house Electrical Division (BNE Pty Ltd), had successfully designed, built, installed and commissioned five mechanical services switchboards.

University of Queensland Chemistry Building

The University of Queensland Chemistry building involved installing chilled water units controlled via air pressure sensors and temperature sensors located in the field. A GasTech monitoring system was also installed which enabled a sounder and strobe when oxygen levels dropped below a safe level. Multiple heater banks controlled by SCRs in the switchboard interlocked with airflow switches and HBT, which enabled safe operation.

University of Queensland Ritchie/Macgregor Buildings

The University of Queensland Ritchie/Macgregor buildings involved installing (8) x chilled water Air handling units, (6) x fume cupboards complete with the associated PVC installation, Laboratory gases & Vacuum systems (all done in-house), C02 monitoring, (3) x MSSBs complete with the associated controls and electrical.

Coles Ipswich Super Store

The new Coles Super Store project consisted of new chillers, AHUs, CHW/FCU back of house AC system, Hoods throughout the store, cold isle heating system with dehumidification, plate exchangers, smoke spill/make up air systems, duct sox air distribution system within the main trading floor and car park ventilation. BNE Pty Ltd installed both the Mechanical Electrical systems as well as Emerson controls.

Coles Redbank Plains

A typical refurbishment, with modifications to existing systems, demolition of existing equipment whilst ensuring the trading floor is kept operational at all times and night works for shut downs. BNE Pty Ltd carried out upgrades to existing MSSBs, installed a new MSSB and commissioned Emerson controls for all of the new Mechanical services equipment.

Coles/Kmart/Liquorland- Sunnybank Hills

A Major refurbishment was required for both Coles & Kmart. Entire smoke spill/make up air systems were installed to bring the store up to code. Cool Air Solutions was required to carried out all works whilst having the trading floor operational at all times. A new dehumidifier system was installed as part of our works, with substantial changes to existing CHW systems. BNE Pty Ltd was responsible for the huge task of upgrading the existing Johnson Controls to ensure all new systems were installed/commissioned as per the specification. This included (4) new MSSBs, (14) x smoke spill/make up air systems, new AC systems and a new dehumidifier system.

Coles Cannon Hill

A typical refurbishment, with modifications to existing systems, demolition of existing equipment whilst ensuring the trading floor is kept operational at all times and night works for shut downs. A new dehumidifier system was installed as part of our works.

Coles New Farm

A typical refurbishment, with modifications to existing systems, demolition of existing equipment whilst ensuring the trading floor is kept operational at all times and night works for shut downs.

Woolworths Brookwater
Cool Air Solutions & BNE Pty Ltd was engaged to do a D&C for this project. The design incorporated the 5000m2 WOW trading floor, a new and exciting Car Park design using Jet fans plus (20) x speciality tenancies including the MATER.
