B Dolby PRO LOGIC surround B Sub woofer
The Sub woofer is integrated in the
main set and you dont need any other
super woofer. The super woofers
effect is very strong when you watch
a movie because it reproduces dyna-
mic bass sound.
B Master volume
Controls the volumes of front, rear,
center and Sub woofer at the same
time according to the value of ratio.
B Automatic input balance function
Even if the sound recording quality is
not good enough the automatic input
balance function is able to promote the
sound quality of the channel sepa-
ration which makes you enjoy
optimised home theater circum-
stances.

functions (Hall, Live and Theater).
These functions shall provide you with
different sounds and characters.

You can feel the deep taste of the ori-
ginal sound without any modification
of the sound.

B Once the connection is finished,
please insert the AC PLUG into the
outlet followed by turning on the main
switch on the back side of the speaker

If you do not use the set for a longer
period of time, you should turn off the

the surround effect according to the
listener position.

B Concept of surround sound
Surround sound is a mixed sound of
direct, indirect and reverberation
sound which reaches your ears from
any circumstance, when you listen a
concert at a hall.
This set is designed by computer
simulation in order to achieve a similar
effect like the one of famous concert
halls in the world.
B Kinds of surround sound

PRO

LOGIC
Dolby PRO LOGIC is a four channel
surround system. With digital signal
management and accented direction
techniques sounds are reproduced in
an extremly realistic way. So you will
feel you are in the center of a three
dimensional sound environment.
You need optional equipment to enjoy
an optimal sound.
1. Video tape and laser disc: Use
tapes and laser disc which were
recorded with Dolby surround.
2. VCR: Connect the VCR whith an
HIFI stereo sound output.

Hall
Generates the atmosphere of a wide
hall in your room.
The speakers work as shown below:

Theater
Allows to experience the three dimen-
sional cubic effect. This function is
especially of effect for videos which
were not recorded with Dolby Sur-
round.

Generates the feeling of live music
as if a singer sings in your room.

LOGIC
Surround System
You need to read carefully this section in order to hear the Dolby PRO

LOGIC
sound.
Place the main set beside or under
the TV set. The speaker in the main
set reproduces bass sound only.
B Front L R speaker
Set up the speakers on the left and
on the right side of the TV. When they
are mounted on the wall it is ideal to
install the speakers towards the
listeners ear.
B Center speaker
Generally the center speaker re-
produces the theater dialogue. Place
the center speaker on top or below the
TV set. In case you placed it beside
the TV set, the Dolby PRO

LOGICs
effect may be diminished. Increasing
the distance improves the effect.
B Control of sound volume

4. Press the key TEST TONE on the
remote control. This initiates the output
of a test signal to the speaker in the
following sequence:
The output signal
has intervals of
2 seconds.
5. Use TEST TONE in the PRO

LOGIC mode only.


6. A uniform sound is suited best. It is
possible to adjust the sound level with
any of the volume controls.
7. After the volume control was adjusted
press the test tone key again to switch
the test sound off.
8. Adjust the super woofer's volume
according to your choice.

'Remote controls window
Any time you press a key of the re-
mote control, a signal is sent. Please
ensure to direct the remote control
toward the main set.
^POWER
With this key the set is switched on
and off.
FUNCTION
Choose the input source from three
different sources named Input 1, 2,
and 3 (if applicable).
SURROUND mode
Choose the surround mode.
ITEST TONE
Please use this function in PRO

LOGIC mode only.


IMUTE
Press this key if you want to switch off
the sound temporally during hearing
music or watching a movie. Re-
pressing the key switches the sound
on again. The master volume does not
move when the mute function is
activated.
Note:
After using MUTE the loudness may
be increased.

Case of the batteries.
B Inserting batteries
1. To open the battery cover apply
slight pressure on it and push it
down.
2. Insert two batteries (1.5volt x 2) of
AAA type (not supplied with the
set).
3. Close the cover.
B Changing batteries
In the case the batterys power is not
sufficient any longer, the remote
control does not work. Please change
the used battries against some new
ones.
B Caution
Please handle the batteries according
the following description:
1. Please ensure to insert the bat-
teries with the correct polarity.
2. Dont heat or break a battery.
3. Dont use old and new batteries at
the same time.
4. If possible, use the batteries of the
same kind.
5. If you do not use the remote control
for a long time, take out the bat-
teries. Leaking battery liquid may
cause damages and/or mal-
function.
Note:
Using several remote controls in the
same room may cause interferences
which may lead to system errors. You
should switch the set off and on again if
a system error has happend.

received within distances of about 7
meters and within a 30-degree angle
on each side of the main set.

TEAC Corporation, hereinafter called TEAC, warrants this product against any
defect in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase by
the original retail purchaser. According to the following terms this TEAC product
will be repaired without charge of labor and materials by the authorized TEAC
service stations, by the authorized TEAC dealers and/or their authorized service
stations. TEAC, the authorized TEAC service stations, the authorized TEAC dealers
and/or their authorized service stations may decide wether the defective product
will be repaired or replaced as a whole or partially. The TEAC dependancies, the
authorized TEAC service stations, the authorized TEAC dealers and/or their
authorized service stations will also honour this warranty in the other EC and
EFTA member states based on the terms in this warranty conditions.
What is Covered and What is Not Covered.
Except as specified below, this warranty covers any defects in materials and work-
manship of this product. The following are not covered by the warranty:
1. Damage to or deterioration of the external cabinet.
2. Any unit that has been altered or on which the serial number has been defaced,
modified, or removed.
3. Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:
(a) accident, misuse, abuse or neglect;
(b) failure to follow instructions supplied with the product;
(c) any shipment of the product. Any damage arising of transportation is the
liability of the freigth company. Any damage arising of transportation and
any implicit and explicit risks are the liability of the freigth company.This is
expressivly not a liability of TEAC;

(d) repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by TEAC to repair this
product;
(e) causes other than product defects, including lack of technical skill, com-
petence or experience of the user. Especially damages which may arise of
incidential use respectively by improper ventilation,
(f) damages caused by improper or incorrect installation of software,
(g) periodic check-ups,
(h) maintenance respectively repair of parts due to normal wear and tear,
(i) adoptions or adjustments to the product in order to conform to different
national technical or safety standards of any country other than the one for
which the product was originally designed and manufactured.
Who May Enforce the Warranty
This warranty may be enforced only by the original retail purchaser.
What We Will Pay For
We will pay all labor and material expenses for items covered by the warranty.
Payment of shipping and insurance charge is discussed in the next section of this
warranty.
How You Can Get Warranty Service
1. If your unit needs service during the warranty period, please contact the local
authorized distributor for this product. If you are unable to locate such a
distributor, please contact your nearest TEAC facility at the address indicated
below, and we will advice you of the name and location of such a distributor or
an autorized service station.
2. After identifying the nearest authorized service station for this product
the product or any parts believed to be defective must be shipped freight and
insurance prepaid to such service station, together with a copy of this warranty
certificate and a copy of your sales receipt, showing the date of purchase.
Please ensure to fill out the warranty certificate correctly (do not forget the
serial number of the product). TEAC reserves the right to refuse the guarantee
service if the documents are missing or incomplete in the understanding of this
terms.
If the necessary repairs are covered by the warranty, and if you have sent the
product or parts of it to the nearest authorized service station, the return freight
and insurance charges will be prepaid.
Please do not return your unit to the TEAC factory without out prior
authorization (see also RMA form)!

Limitations of Liability and Exclusion of Implied Warranties
Unless considered unenforceable or unlawfull under the applicable national law:
1. TEACs liability for any defective product is limited to repair or replacement of
the product, at TEAC's option and the option of authorized service stations,
authorized dealers and their authorized service stations. No one is authorized
to assume any greater liability on TEACs behalf. TEAC shall not be liable for
any damage to any other properties independant of their virtual or real nature
especially there is no liability for any damage to any kind of software and/or
any kind of databases caused by TEAC products.Furthermore TEAC is not
liable for damages arising out of loss of use, loss of revenue or profits, or any
other damages, wether incidential, consequential, or otherwise.
2. All implied warranties or conditions, including but not limited to warranties or
conditions of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, hereby are
excluded.
These warranty terms do not affect any statutory rights of consumers which were
granted by the respective national laws.

Jahr Garantie bezglich jedes etwaigen Defekts an Material und Herstellung. Gem der nachstehenden Bedingungen wird
das betreffende TEAC Produkt von den autorisierten TEAC Servicestellen, den autorisierten Facheinzelhndlern oder den
autorisierten Servicestellen der Facheinzelhndler ohne Berechnung von Material- und Arbeitskosten repariert. Die Servicestelle
entscheidet, ob das Gert als ganzes oder nur die defekten Teile ausgetauscht werden. Die TEAC Tochtergesellschaften, die
autorisierten TEAC Servicestellen und die autorisierten Servicestellen der Facheinzelhndler bernehmen die Garantieleistung
in den anderen EG- und EFTA-Mitgliedsstaaten im Rahmen der in dieser Garantie definierten Bestimmungen.
Gewhrleistungsumfang
Soweit dies nachfolgend nicht ausgeschlossen wird, umfat die Gewhrleistung alle etwaigen Defekte an Material und
Herstellung. Folgendes ist aus dem Gewhrleistungsumfang ausdrcklich ausgeschlossen:
1. Schden am Gehuse.
2. Gerte, die verndert wurden oder deren Seriennummern verflscht, verndert oder entfernt wurden.
3. Schden oder Fehlfunktionen, die auf folgendes zurckzufhren sind:
(a) Hhere Gewalt, fehlerhafter und/oder nicht bestimmungsgemer Gebrauch,
(b) Gebrauch, der nicht den im Handbuch angegebenen Verfahrensweisen entspricht,
(c) Transportschden jedweder Art. Fr Transportschden haftet das Frachtunternehmen. (Alle mit dem Transport
verbundenen expliziten und impliziten Risiken sind nicht Bestandteil der Haftung von TEAC.)
(d) unsachgem ausgefhrte Reparaturen oder Reparaturversuche durch nicht von TEAC autorisierte Personen
und/oder Unternehmen,
(e) alle Schden, die nicht unmittelbar als Produktdefekt anzusehen sind, insbesondere Schden, die durch
unsachgemen Gebrauch seitens des Anwenders wie beispielsweise unzureichende Khlluftzufuhr entstanden sind,
(g) Schden durch unsachgemes Anwenden der Software,
(h) regelmige Inspektionen,
(i) Wartung bzw. Reparatur von Teilen infolge normalen, betriebsbedingtem Verschlei,
(j) Anpassung an national unterschiedliche technische oder sicherheitsrelevante Anforderungen, wenn das Produkt
nicht in dem Land eingesetzt wird, fr das es ursprnglich konzipiert und hergestellt worden ist.
Wer kann die Gewhrleistung in Anspruch nehmen
Gewhrleistungsansprche knnen ausschlielich vom Ersterwerber des Produkts in Anspruch genommen werden.
Welche Kosten werden bernommen
TEAC bernimmt die Kosten fr die im Rahmen einer Garantiereparatur anfallende Arbeitszeit und die Materialien, die
im Rahmen dieser Gewhrleistungsbestimmungen definiert sind. Frachtkosten und Versandversicherung werden im
folgenden Abschnitt diskutiert.
Gewhrleistungsabwicklung
1. Falls Ihr Gert innerhalb der Garantiezeit Service bentigt, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren fr dieses Produkt
autorisierten Fachhndler. Falls Sie in Ihrer Nhe keinen Fachhndler finden, nehmen Sie bitte mit der Ihnen
nchstgelegenen TEAC Niederlassung Kontakt auf. Sie wird Ihnen den Namen und die Adresse des fr Sie zustndigen
Fachhndlers bzw. der nchstgelegenen autorisierten Servicestelle nennen.
2. Ihr Fachhndler teilt Ihnen Namen und Adresse der nchstgelegenen autorisierten Servicestation mit.
Schicken Sie das Produkt oder die als defekt vermuteten Teile spesenfrei (Fracht- und Versicherungskosten mssen
von Ihnen bezahlt werden) an die Servicestation. Fgen Sie bitte eine Kopie des Kaufbelegs bei und fllen Sie die
Garantiekarte vollstndig aus (mit Angabe der Seriennummer des Gerts). TEAC behlt sich vor, Garantieleistungen
abzulehnen, falls Garantiekarte und Kaufnachweis nicht im Sinne der vorliegenden Bestimmungen vorgelegt werden.
Falls die erforderlichen Reparaturen von den Gewhrleistungsbestimmungen abgedeckt sind und das Produkt zur
nchstgelegenen Servicestation geschickt wurde, werden die Kosten fr Rckfracht und Versicherung freigemacht.
Bitte schicken Sie das Gert nicht ohne unsere ausdrckliche Zustimmung direkt an TEAC (siehe auch
Rcksendeformular).
Einschrnkungen der Gewhrleistung und Ausschlu implizierter Ansprche
Soweit dies nicht dem jeweils gltigen national anwendbaren Recht widerspricht, sind folgende Ansprche ausgeschlossen:

von TEAC sowie der autorisierten Servicestellen, der autorisierten Facheinzelhndler und deren autorisierten Servicestellen.
Weitergehende Ansprche sind in vollem Umfang ausgeschlossen. TEAC bernimmt keine Haftung fr Schden an anderen
Gegenstnden realer oder virtueller Natur, insbesondere an Software und/oder Datenbestnden, die durch Defekte in
TEAC Produkten verursacht wurden. Weiterhin sind alle Ansprche aus Mangel an Benutzbarkeit, entgangenem Umsatz
und/oder Gewinn sowie alle anderen impliziten und expliziten Haftungen ausdrcklich ausgeschlossen.
2. Alle impliziten Gewhrleistungsansprche und Vorbehalte, einschlielich solcher, aber nicht beschrnkt auf diese, wie die
Vermarktbarkeit und/oder die Gebrauchsfhigkeit fr einen bestimmten Zweck, werden hiermit explizit ausgeschlossen.
Diese Garantiebestimmungen berhren das national festgelegte Verbraucherrecht nicht.
