Part Design
Enhanced Functionality Creating Rectangular Patterns
You can create rectangular pattern with the staggered configuration.

Creating Shells
A new Propagate faces to remove check box is available for creating a shell.

Creating Variable Radius Fillets

A new Edit Fillet Values option is available for creating a variable radius fillet.

Creating Chordal Fillets

A new Edit Fillet Values option is available for creating a chordal fillet.

Creating Face-Face Fillets

A new Near Point option is available for creating a face-face fillet.

Computing Mean Dimensions

A new warning message is available informing you the active dimensioning system. It also gives you an option to either convert the active dimensioning system or retain it.

Creating Remove Face Features

You can deactivate the RemoveFace feature, if it fails at the time of creation. It allows you to save a lot of time otherwise required for input selection and its computation.

Sketcher
Enhanced Functionality Intersecting 3D Elements with the Sketch Plane
The Intersection dialog box is available with the Element(s) to intersect, Near element and No Canonical Curve options.

Projecting 3D Elements onto the Sketch Plane

The Projection dialog box is available with the Element(s) to intersect, Near element and No Canonical Curve options.

Modifying a 3D Geometry Offset

The No Canonical Curve check box is available in the Offset Definition dialog box

Offsetting 3D Geometry
The No canonical curve detection option is available in the Sketch tools toolbar.

Generative Shape Design & Optimizer

New Functionality Creating a Rolling Offset
This new functionality lets you create a rolling offset curve to the reference element.

Creating Silhouettes
This new functionality lets you create silhouettes using reflect lines, extraction of edges and removal of non visible areas of the contour capabilities.

Creating Sew Surfaces

This new functionality lets you add or remove material by modifying the surface of the solid.

Creating Remove Face Features

This new functionality lets you simplify 3D shapes when they are too complex for finite elements analyses.

Creating Chamfers
This new functionality lets you create two chamfers by selecting two edges.

Creating a Blend Corner

This new functionality enables you to create blend corners and locally redesign the surfaces.

Creating 2D-View Sections

This new functionality lets you create 2D-view sections which is a set used as a means to visualize geometry details along multiple section planes and that can contain all types of shape design features.

Enhanced Functionality Autofilleting

A new Round radius option to round convex edges and a new Invert material side button to reverse the orientation of the material have been added.

Creating Rough Offset Surfaces

You can now create a rough offset with minimum deviation.

Trimming Geometry
You can now trim the surfaces using the Pieces mode.

Deforming Elements According to Shape Morphing

Three new constraint options: None (G0), Rigid tangency and Rigid space are now available with four new transformation types: Reference translation, Reference isometry, Reference similarity and Reference linear transformation. The new Parameters tab enables you to define constraint propagation on the deformed surface. You can now easily identify the target point of the corresponding reference coupling point.

Unfolding a Surface
You can now visualize the distortion in the 3D view. A new Distortion color maps area has been added. The check boxes in this area enable you to display distortions of the surface to unfold and unfolded surface.

Creating Fill Surfaces

You can now define a fill surface using inner boundaries. You can select a continuity type for each support surfaces. You can now select curves as passing elements. You can now create a fill by selecting only the inner boundaries and passing points.

Working with a 3D Support

You can now select the type of the visible area between Finite and Infinite and define which area is to be visualized from the origin point for each of the three grids. A new Furtive grids check box lets you see the grids only when they are parallel to one of the three planes of the 3D support.

Creating Variable Offset Surfaces

You can now select the offset law type between Linear and S type.

Working with Multi-Sections Surfaces

A new Area Law tab enables you to define and control the shape of a multi-sections surface between its sections by defining a law.

Stacking Commands You can remove the unused contextual features by selecting the Remove Unused Contextual Features contextual

Knowledge Advisor
Enhanced Functionality V6 Knowledge features are V5 compatible
Now, the Knowledge features Viz. Parameters, Formulas, Equivalent dimensions, Laws, KWA rules, KWA checks, Set of equations, Reactions, Relation sets, Parameter sets, Actions, VB actions, Optimizations, KWE rules, checks, and rulesets embedded in the V6 representation can be fully retrieved in V5.
