Box 441906 Fort Washington, Maryland 20749 Message for the Feast of Perfection (Kaml), July 31/August 1, 2006 Volume 1, Number 3 Dear Friends, The Capital Area Baha'i Center is an Inter-Community Project begun in 1992 by communities of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. The "Vision" of these communities is to create a powerful instrument for diffusing the spirit of the Faith and the promotion of the Five-Year Teaching Plans of the Universal House of Justice. Widespread devotion to the Project, donations, and personal loans from seven households allowed the Inter-communities to finalize the purchase of the 43 acres in 2001. Over the past several years green gardens, Meditation Paths and Prayer Stations have been developed and limited use has been made of the old house on the property. The Task Force is now focusing on developing a Plan for the first of many buildings "envisioned" to be erected on the property. This will be a Multipurpose building to serve the needs and uses required by the communities of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC in keeping with the Inter-Community Project plans. The Task Force has had the bounty and honor of receiving several "artist's renderings of multipurpose buildings and will from time to time share these designs with the friends to give them an opportunity to make suggestions and comments.

The property is located a few minutes south of the D.C. Beltway at 11111 Riverview Road, Fort Washington, Maryland. It is administered by the Spiritual Assemblies of Prince Georges County South and Montgomery County Southeast.
