IGNITION AND DETECTION ELECTRODES WITH INBUILT RESISTANCE

APPLICATION The type and features of the material used to manufacture these electrodes make them suitable not only as ignition electrodes, but also as flame sensors in atmospheric gas burners. Thanks to the possibility to fit a resistance inside the electrodes to reduce the emission of electromagnetic interference upon generation of the electrical spark, these electrodes are particularly useful when fitted in devices which have to meet the requirements of electromagnetic compatibility standards (Directive 89/336/CEE). They are the perfect solution for the manufacture of EMC devices fitted with "single electrode" ignition and flame monitoring systems. MANUFACTURING FEATURES Electrodes consist of a kanthal D rod, an insulating glazed alumina ceramic and a steel fixing bracket; whereas the back side, made of thermoplastic material resisting to high temperature, is press-forged so as to be fitted to various metal clutches or to a high isolation teflon cable and, if required, to a resistance. The electrode back working through press-forging enables to achieve extremely interesting performances: - High torque strength of both rod and bracket; in fact, both parts are blocked by the plastic material preventing spin. - Possibility to mount a resistance between rod and terminal, provided with enough strength to stand the stress generated by the spark energy, and with very reduced dimensions and isolation over 20kV. - High impact and vibration strength preventing the electrode from being accidentally damaged.
