EnergyBank are leaders in solar technology. We can design a system to meet your usage prole and your budget.

Why commercial solar?

There are many benets that come with the installation of a solar power system, including:

A hedge against the risk of rising electricity prices

After 22 years of electricity prices generally in line with CPI increases, average Australian electricity prices have increased by 40% relative to CPI in the ve years to 2011, and are expected to increase at a similar rate in the near future. (Source: Energy Users Association of Australia, 2011).

Low risk, secure investment

Commercial PV systems attract typical paybacks of 5-7 years, and a return on investment in excess of 15%. The expected life of a solar power system is over
20 years, which ensures that will continue to generate

electricity well after the initial investment has been paid back.

Systems are custom designed for your facility

Our solar power system proposal is custom designed for your facility, taking into considerations such as current electricity usage, existing electrical infrastructure, roof structure and area, and potential roof shading.

Increases property value through lower overhead costs

A commercial solar system will reduce the electricity overhead cost of the facility, which is a signicant overhead expense for most facilities. This will make the facility more appealing to leasees, while allowing the leasor to charge a premium.

Creates a highly visible statement as to your sustainability commitment

A PV system installed on your facility is a highly visible statement of your sustainability commitment to sta , clients and the general public. This can be enhanced through the installation of our optional monitoring system, which monitors the live energy usage of the facility and solar output, and can be viewed both online and in an onsite display.

Solar is a great investment with an ROI of over 15%

Federal Government rebate

A Federal Government rebate is still available for solar power systems, through the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme. Small-scale Technology Certicates (STCs) are created through the installation of a solar power system, with each STC equivalent to 1MWh of electricity generated. These STCs have a value on the open market, and can be sold upon installation to reduce the upfront capital investment.

Very low maintenance

The Federal Government, through the peak industry body the Clean Energy Council (CEC), strictly regulates the solar industry in Australia, by accrediting both designers and installers, as well as individual solar system components for use in Australia.

EnergyBank uses only CEC accredited designers and installers, as well as equipment for all systems. Our panels are supplied by Sun-Earth, a Tier 1 panel

Any solar power system under 100kW size is eligible to create STCs and claim 15 years worth of STCs upfront.

manufacturer, which has been manufacturing solar panels for over 40 years. The other components, including inverters, mounting equipment and cable are sourced from manufacturers that have obtained all relevant accreditation, including IEC, CEC, AS and o er a minimum of 5 years warranties, which can be extended upon request.

How does Solar work?

A typical solar power system consists of the following components:

Photovoltaic modules Also known as solar panels; directly convert energy in the form of sunlight into direct current (DC) electrical energy. Inverter An inverter changes the solar DC power into 240V alternating current (AC), enabling it to be used at your facility, and exported to the grid. Switchboard AC power from the inverter travels to the switchboard for use in your facility. The switchboard contains the Solar Supply Main Switch, which is used to isolate the system. Electricity meter The meter records the electricity sent to the grid from your solar system as well as the electricity consumed from the grid. Electricity grid Any surplus electricity generated by the system is sold back to your electricity retailer through the grid.

Our Solution
We o er a turnkey solution from initial feasibility through to installation and nal commissioning, including management the following key tasks:

Local Government approvals (if required); Electricity retailer connection agreements and Feed in Tari negotiations; Meter changeover; Registration and sale of STCs; Finance procurement.

Our Process
1. Proposal
- Site visit - Electricity usage analysis - System output calculations - Quotation

2. Acceptance of proposal

- Your commitment to the project, allowing us to begin detailed design

3. Detailed design
- Electrical design of solar power system - Structural design - Network connection agreement

4. Installation

- Installation of the system, programmed to avoid disruption to the operation of your business

5. Testing and commissioning

- Ensures that the entire system is installed safely and is working optimally

System sizing
When sizing a solar power system, the Feed in Tari rate (FiT) and electricity unit pricing need to be considered. The FiT is the rate at which your electricity retailer will purchase any excess electricity generated by the system and fed back into the grid, while your electricity unit pricing is the variable (per kWh) cost of electricity. There are two main sizing models:

Energy o set
System is sized to oset existing electricity usage, but not to export to the grid. Each unit of electricity generated (kWh) is o setting the purchase of electricity from the grid, and is thus valued at the electricity unit price. Suitable for facilities with electricity unit pricing higher than the FiT rate

Energy export
System is sized to generate in excess of daytime electricity consumption and export electricity to the grid. Income is derived from the sale of the excess electricity Suitable for facilities with an electricity unit rate lower than the FiT rate.

A custom designed system will ensure the best nancial return for your organisation

Energy Monitoring
We can also install energy and solar monitoring as part of the overall installation, allowing you to track the energy usage of your facility and energy generation from your solar power system in real-time. Our myENERGY environmental monitoring system displays live and historical data through a customised web interface, and optional on-site display, allowing sta and other stakeholders to view energy usage and output information, allowing you to keep track of your investment over time.

System Finance
We can also assist in the procurement of nance for the capital cost of the system, including an o -balance sheet leasing option, or a traditional asset purchase nance arrangement. Typically, the nancing of a solar power system will still result in a net annual saving, with the reduction in electricity costs more than o setting the cost of nance.
