. The Fourth Wise Man. December 1st at 7:00 pm Come join us in the Church hall for the 2nd Year of Faith movie. Based on Henry van Dyke's fictional classic, The Story of the Other Wise Man, this movie is about a Magi named Artaban (played by Martin Sheen) who sets out to find the Messiah and ends up discovering what true faith really means. Refreshments (Coffee, Tea, Juice, Sweets, Popcorn, Hot Dogs) will be available with proceeds going to ShareLife.

Once again the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is asking parishioners if they would like to provide a family in need with special gifts at Christmas. The boundaries that our St. Vincent de Paul group is covering have expanded to include the Berry Road/Stonegate area thereby assisting even more families. Annual Craft and Bake Sale Sunday, December 2nd 9:00 am 3:00 pm Mary, Mother of God School is hosting their annual Craft and Bake Sale at St. Vincent de Pauls Church Hall, 263 Roncesvalles Avenue. Yummy treats, creative crafts and delicious food and good company is included in the fare for the day!

An Open Forum, to offer those who are not being interviewed an opportunity to offer their input regarding our planning study, is scheduled after each Mass this weekend in the hall meeting room. The interview questionnaire form and a short video will be available on our website www.sorrows.ca, starting Nov. 24th. Your participation in helping us plan and sharing your views is needed. We look forward to hearing from you.

Musical Notes

If you love music and enjoy singing, then perhaps one of the OLS choirs would be a great place for you to direct your musical energy. We welcome you at any time during the year. A Christmas Concert performed by the Our Lady of Sorrows Ecumenical Choir under the direction of Gordon Mansell, with choir accompanist and assistant Allison Hunwicks. This choir will perform concerts and liturgies during the Candlemas Festival (Jan. 27 Feb. 4, 2013) in Florence, Assisi, Rome, and St. Peters Basilica. Attend and support our singers in their final preparations for this exceptional spiritual and musical experience. Donations accepted.

OLS Youth Advent Retreat


Youth and Young Adults are invited to attend an Advent Retreat Saturday, December 1st from 9:30 am-3:00pm, led by Fr. Francois Mifsud OP, Chaplain at the University of St. Michael's College at U of T. Using the theme, Year of Faith, Fr. Francois will invite us to look harder at our own lives of faith. New Beginnings
Tuesday December 4, 2012 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm For those who have lost a loved one through Death, Separation or Divorce. Join for an informative evening for the viewing of a DVD called "Through a Lens Darkly: Grief, Loss and C.S. Lewis:" Loss comes in many forms and the physical, and emotional responses to grief can be as heart wrenching as the loss itself. By watching the DVD and discussing the content the intent is to find encouragement and hope in a time of despair, doubt or fear. Location: The Catholic Pastoral Centre, 1155 Yonge St. 4th Floor, (NE corner of Yonge and Shaftesbury Ave., beside the Summerhill Subway station. Free underground parking off Shaftesbury.
