Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

The gospel today is clear that the role of Jesus was to testify to the truth. Truth is critical to human fulfillment and happiness. Without the truth we live suspiciously in a world of lies. What is the truth about the effect of our actions on children, the importance of a fathers presence to the development of a child, the effect of cohabitation on a relationship, the result of long work days and too little time with families? Live the Gospel Truth. Living Faith in November: John 18:33b-37 The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty. (PS. 93) Where in your life is there time to listen for the truth? When have you had the opportunity to share the truth; to be a faithful witness? In what ways do you see the kingdom of Heaven here on Earth? What the world is in particular need of today is the credible witness of people enlightened in mind and heart by the word of the Lord, and capable of opening the hearts and minds of many to the desire for God and for true life, life without end. (PF 15) 318 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. Do you have a special need or intention you would like the adorers to pray for? We are truly thankful for your gifts of music and appreciate your time and dedication to St. Augustine's Church. Why a Holy Hour? The Eucharist means God has answered: The Eucharist is God as an answer, as an answering presence. Now the initiative no longer lies with us, in the God-man relationship, but with Him, and it now become really serious. That is why, in the sphere of Eucharistic adoration, prayer attains a new level; now it is two-way and so now it really is a serious business (Pope Benedict XVI)
