If the Telepathy check succeeds, the telepath gets a hunch as to the location of a desired object or place. The telepath normally points out the location on a map, although sometimes the telepath feels the correct direction to go in. The ability is unreliable and may work through picking up either latent psychometric information in the environment or by sifting through information subconsciously scanned from other people. Still, some IPX expeditions have been saved by a telepath who was able to guess the right location to dig in. Only the most gifted of Telepaths is capable of leaving his physical form and moving about as the energy of thought The Telepath is able to move into the MindScape as a Full round action. The only guides in the MindScape are sentient minds and without them the telepath can be lost in the fog between minds. In this state the telepath can use minds to perceive the real world. Other Telepaths paying attention to the Mindscape can sense the Mind Walker in the normal manner. If a telepath is lost in the Fog his only recourse is Locate Mind. If he can not find his way back to his body he may be doomed to wander the Mindscape forever until his mind dies with his body. With a successful telepathy skill check the telepath can know when any sort of electronic device is looking at him. Cameras or directional scanners are the most common of these devices but targeting systems and other devices could be used as well. If the device is not targeted specifically at the telepath but detects him anyway - a security camera on a regular sweep, for example - the check has a 2 modifier. However, depending on how large and how close the electronic device is, the Game Master could give up to a +3 bonus to the telepaths check for proximity or size. Soul Riding P-Rating: 15 Range: Close Telepathy Check: 25 Concentration: No Multiple Subjects: No It is possible for a Telepath to download a fragment of its personality into another individual; the Telepath consciousness then exists as a telepathic parasite, a living thought, within the carriers mind. The thought fragment can manifest at times, thinking and behaving as the Telepath would. The soul fragments Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma scores are equal to those of the host, plus the Telepaths own Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma modifiers. The fragment has the same skills as the Telepath, and can access the hosts telepathic powers, if any. The telepath can occupy no more than its wisdom modifier # of hosts at a single time and can use Second Sight at galactic ranges to see through its hosts eyes, otherwise when the fragment returns the telepath experiences all that the host did while the fragment occupied its mind. Psychometry Variations Distant Psychometry (DC 30): This variation allows the telepath to probe more deeply into the past by magnifying the weakest, most fleeting psychic traces. A successful use of this ability gives the telepath a psychometric flash, regardless of how much time has passed. Walking With Ghosts (DC +10): Instead of getting a confused jumble of images and impressions when using psychometry, the telepath momentarily shares the perceptions of whatever echoes of a consciousness still linger. The effect is something like the second sight ability, only the telepath shares the perceptions of a mind long dead and gone. Surface Scan Variations Translation (DC 20): The telepath picks up on the linguistic structure of the targets mind, giving clues as to how the target communicates. This gives the telepath a +4 bonus to any Linguistics checks made when communicating with the target. Feats Improved Danger Sense Prerequisite: Access to Precognitive Contemplation Danger Sense now applies to non-sentient dangers as well.
