Lawyers can contribute enhancement to the system by: a. Presenting position papers/ resolution for the introduction of pertinent bills in congress. b. CANON 5

A LAWYER SHALL KEEP ABREAST OF LEGAL DEVELOPMENTS, PARTICIPATE IN CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS, SUPPORT EFFORTS TO ACHIEVE HIGH STANDARDS IN LAW SCHOOLS AS WELL AS IN THE PRACTICAL TRAINING OF LAW STUDENTS AND ASSIST IN DISSEMINATING INFORMATION REGARDING THE LAW AND JURISPRUDENCE.

Objectives for the integration of the Bar a. Elevate the standards of the legal profession. b. Improve the admission of justices c. Enable the bar to discharge its public responsibility more effectively. In line with IBP objectives LAWYERS MUST KEEP THEMSELVES ABREAST OF LEGAL DEVELOPMENTS. They must:

a. Be acquainted with the newly promulgated laws; b. Decisions of the Supreme Court; c. Significant decisions of the Court of Appeals; d. EO,, administrative circulars, regulations and other rules promulgated by other competent authorities. Judges by the nature of their function must also keep abreast with laws, rulings and decisions of the Supreme Court. The term Legal Education is generally understood to mean the special training that goes to the making of a lawyer but it has long been recognize d that this education does not end with admission.
