This is a 2 day lesson plan on characters/characterization that is part of a short story elements unit.
ELACC7RL6: Analyze how an author develops and contrasts the points of view of different characters or narrators in a text.
Understandings: Students will understand that.. there are several ways to determine what a character is like. A lot of thought goes into the development of a character.
Student will know. *characterization *Indirect vs. direct characterization *static vs dynamic character
Student will be able to *determine if a character is static or dynamic. *analyze a the development of a character using the method of characterization.
Self-Assessments Students will fill out the rubric on their character they develop to make sure they have a fully developed character and write a paragraph explaining why their character is complete.
They will fill out their own rubric once they have created their character to make sure they have everything needed. Students will write a paragraph explaining why their character is complete.
