Bagging a Hollywood project is a thrilling affair, and Emraan Hashmi, who is playing the lead in filmmaker Danis Tanovics next film, too, is excited about his upcoming venture. So much so, that he has decided to help the No Mans Land (2001) director Tanovic by doing a recce for the film. An insider reveals, Emraan wants to be completely involved and is taking a personal interest in the films development. Therefore, he will be accompanying Tanovic when he goes scouting for locations. Emraan will travel with the director to check out locations in LA (USA) and London (UK) as well as tiertwo cities and small towns of India. They will consider several options in India for the perfect location. Emraan will not only be working closely with Tanovic in India but also in LA and London. Emraan wants to be part of the project from the start to finish, and feels that being in close contact with the director will enhance their rapport and make them more comfortable

Controversy queen Poonam Pandey says she will surprise her fans with her boldness in her debut movie Nasha. I am a bold person, so I was quite comfortable shooting for the bold scenes. In fact, I enjoyed shooting for the bold scenes. I am here to entertain the audience and I am doing my job, said Poonam. The cast and crew of Nasha have been shooting since November 5. We started shooting for the film on November 5 in Mahabaleshwar. It was amazing shooting here. The weather is cold, but its a perfect location for the film. We are shooting few scenes in the open and some scenes inside the rooms, she said. Jism fame director Amit Saxena is wielding the megaphone for the film. The first look of Nasha was shot recently and Poonam said: I know everybody loved the first look, but trust me it was not easy shooting for that. I had to pose for each and every alphabet to make it look authentic and it was not easy. It was difficult but I am glad

NEW LAW ELIMINATING HOUSE ARREST FOR SERIOUS AND VIOLENT CRIMES COMES INTO FORCE
Today amendments that eliminate conditional sentences for serious and violent crimes the final component of the Safe Streets and Communities Act have come into force. The Honourable Julian Fantino, Member of Parliament for Vaughan and the Minister of International Cooperation, is pleased to make this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. Canadians can count on our government to stand up for victims and to continue strengthening our justice system so that those who commit serious crimes serve serious jail time, stated Minister Fantino. Our Government has a strong record of putting victims first, getting tough on serious and violent offenders, and keeping our streets and communities safe, said Minister Nicholson. House arrest should not be available for offenders of serious crimes like sexual assault, kidnapping, and human trafficking. Those who commit these violent crimes must serve their time behind bars, not in the comfort of their homes and that is exactly the issue this legislation corrects. The Criminal Code outlines the circumstances when a conditional sentence can be years. The Owner Mr. Nav Bhatia has been involved in many community projects such as serving as a director of the Trillium Hospital Foundation. The organization is also committed to helping children of all backgrounds. KidSport was established in 1993 because of an identified imposed. The amendments in this component of Safe Streets and Communities Act maintain these conditions and expand the list describing when a conditional sentence is not available, including: Any offence for which the law prescribes a maximum penalty of 14 years or life imprisonment; Any offence prosecuted by indictment and for which the law prescribes a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment that results in bodily harm, involves the import/export, trafficking or production of drugs or involves the use of a weapon; and, A listed offence prosecuted by indictment and for which the law prescribes a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment which means that crimes such as theft over $5,000, breaking and entering, and theft of a motor vehicle are now included on the list of indictable offences ineligible for a conditional sentence.The Government introduced the Safe Streets and Communities Act on September 20, 2011, fulfilling its commitment to expeditiously introduce several law-and-order bills aimed at combating crime and terrorism. The Safe Streets and Communities Act received Royal Assent on March 13, 2012. An online version of the legislation can be found at www.parl.gc.ca. need by leaders in the sport community. Women are active in show business like never before, but will they surpass the status Bollywood heroes enjoy? Never, says actress Bipasha Basu, who feels there is minimum opportunity for female actors in the Hindi film industry. In Bollywood, the opportunities for female actresses is very minimum. Theres not much choice for us except to be safe and look pretty and do some nice dance numbers, said Bipasha in an interview. The year 2011 saw films like The Dirty Picture, No One Killed Jessica and Saat Khoon Maaf -- showcasing a promising trend as far as women finding prominent roles in movies was concerned. But Bipasha says: One Dirty Picture hasnt changed anything much. Its just that youre lucky sometimes to get a Dirty Picture or for my sake, get a Raaz, Jism or Corporate. As one off, you will get a film, which will be talked about in the context that Oh! Women are getting into trend now! Its going to be such a great time for female actresses. The thing it is never. We all are going through it, including my contemporaries. Sonakshi excited to work with Saif in Bullet Raja!

After working with names like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, actress Sonakshi Sinha is now excited about working with Saif Ali Khan in Bullet Raja. She considers it a fresh pairing. Its a very fresh pairing and I am looking forward to work with Saif Ali Khan. I actually wanted to work with him for quite some time, and luckily got an opportunity with Bullet Raja. I am extremely excited to work with Saif, said Sonakshi. Bullet Raja, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, is set around Uttar Pradesh-based mafia. The shooting of the movie has already begun, but Sonakshi will join the crew in February 2013. I believe they have already started shooting the film. I was busy shooting for Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2 and Dabangg 2, so I will join the crew of Bullet Raja in February, she said. Sonakshi isnt sure where her parts will be shot, but says she might have to travel to Uttar Pradesh. The actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Dabangg in 2010, says she is happy with the roles she has received. Ajay sets out for his hometown in Punjab and bumps into Sonakshi Sinha while boarding the train. Both Ajay and Sonakshi are oblivious of the fact that the families have a long-standing feud. Sonakshi happens to be the niece of Sanjay Dutt, whose brother was killed by Ajays father many years ago. Soon enough, Sanjay Dutt and his nephews [Mukul Dev, Vindu Dara Singh] realize that Ajay is the son of the killer and even want to slaughter Ajay, but theres a hitch. Ajay has entered their mansion as a guest and as per the tradition, all guests are to be treated as God. Actress Shonali Sharmas tokri ke peeche song evokes protests in Pondicherry

Little did actress Shonali Sharma who recently signed a big banner Tamil film know that she would have to bear the ire of locals while shooting for a song sequence for the same project. The title song which has lyrics like tokri ke peeche is a bi-lingual track and is a parody on the famous Choli ke peeche song from the movie Khalnayak. It also has a few double meaning phrases that can be construed or interpreted to be an insult to the Tambram or Tamil Brahim community. The music of the song is somewhat similar to the infamous Kolaveri Di track and the lyrics mention the phrases Sheila Ki Jawani aur Munni Ki Badnami. Shonali Sharma plays the lead in the film, the title of which has not yet been revealed. While shooting for the song on the outskirts of Pondicherry, actress Shonali Sharma and the unit were attacked by local hooligans who demanded that the shooting be stalled and the lyrics changed. Explaining the sequence of events, Shonali Sharma told Newz88, We started shooting the song at around 8 am and everything was fine till about 3 pm. I suspect some of the unit wallas must have tipped off local goons who attacked the set with lathis and stones and demanded that the shooting be stopped immediately. Since the shoot was at a remote location, it took time for the police to reach there. We had to actually pack up and leave in our vehicles to convince the

goondas that we had stopped shooting or else they would have damaged our vehicles and other camera, sound and light equipment. After the police arrived, the goons were taken into custody and the shooting continued under police protection, though tension prevailed in the area. We finished shooting the outdoor portion of the song by about 11.30 pm and left the area with police protection. This was a very unnerving incident and I am still trying to get over it.

Akshay Kumar to inaugurate 43rd International Film Festival of India

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will kick off the 43rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) at a football ground in the capital later this month, organisers said, adding that over 70 films would be premiered at the 10-day event. Akshay Kumar will be inaugurating the IFFI at the football stadium in Panaji. Over 7,500 delegates and 400 members from the media have already registered for the festival, director of the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) Shankar Mohan said. He added that two Indian regional language films were vying with 15 other films in the competition section. Mohan said Punjabi film Anhey Ghode da daan and Bengali film Elar Char Adhyay would be competing with other global films in the competition section. Tabu and Irrfan Khan, among other cast of the opening film Life of Pi, would also be attending the inauguration ceremony, Mohan said. He added that in the centenary of the Indian film section, over 27 films and 56 documentaries
