Statement / Purposes of Portfolio

This portfolio is an assessment that measures the progress of a student, as well as the
strengths and challenges of the third year students of Infant Jesus Academy at Kalibo, Aklan
when we had our try out test as a requirement in the subject Assessment of Student Learning 1.
We made this portfolio as a compilation of our student's work. As future teachers, we
are trained to formulate our groups try out test, validate it and undergone item and choice
analysis. This serves as not only a documentation of our completed work, but will also include
self-reflections and recommendations for improvement.
According to Meg Sewell, Mary Marczak, and Melanie Horn at the University of Arizona,
"contents of portfolios (sometimes called 'artifacts' or 'evidence') can include drawings, photos,
video or audio tapes, writing or other work samples, computer disks, and copies of
standardized or program-specific tests; the data sources can include parents, staff, and other
community members who know the participants or program, as well as the self-reflections of
participants themselves" (Sewell, Marczak, and Horn).
With the above mentioned quote, artifacts placed in this portfolio were carefully chosen
to represent the portfolios purpose and the most solid work done by each member. We
organized the things that are needed to this portfolio for the readers to appreciate our work in
making this one that may lead to our success as future teachers as this serves as our tool in the
teaching and learning process.
