As you may know, the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis is currently hosting an exhibition entitled "Vatican All Splendor: A Saints Day is November 1! Dont forget Adult Formation following coffee hour on both Oct 28 and Nov 4. The October 28 topic is Christian Principles in an Election Year. We will review 10 principles for those seeking public office followed by reading applicable Bible verses, and end by entertaining a few discussion questions. What you discover may surprise you! The November 4 topic will be the upcoming Diocesan mission trip to our companion Diocese of Lui in the South Sudan. Maria Evans, who will be going on the trip in late November, and Lisa Fox, who went on the first Diocesan trip to Lui, will share their respective thoughts about the trip. Maria will also be speaking to the Sunday School children that morning. This weeks Lui Tidbit: Our missioners have their visas! Canon Dan Smith says they all arrived earlier this week to his office. The missioners are supposed to pick them up from him at a meeting in St. Louis on Saturday, November 3. Canon Dan says that they are rather large, covering a whole page in the passport. Please continue to keep the missioners and the people of our companion diocese of Lui in your prayers. Howard Hickman Update: Howards wife Lisa reports that Howard has been moved to a regular room following his surgery and continues to improve following his repeat valve replacement at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He enjoys the cards and greetings and appreciates the love and care shown by everyone at Trinity. This weeks news from Episcopal News Service: News of note this week includes the start of the 15th annual meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council and stories of social medias power in spreading the Good News in Christ in new and innovative ways.
