Other Health Technology Assessments Effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of computer and other electronic aids for smoking cessation: a systematic review and network meta-analysis Chen, Y et al. This report found that computer and other electronic aids increase the likelihood of smoking cessation compared with no intervention or generic self-help materials, but the effect is small and does not appear to vary with respect to mode of delivery and concurrent non-electronic co-interventions. Health Technol Assess 2012;16(38) The use of MElatonin in children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders and impaired Sleep: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel study (MENDS) Appleton, R et al. This study found that melatonin increases total sleep time in children with neurodevelopmental delay but that the increase is not clinically worthwhile and that melatonin is effective in reducing sleep-onset latency in children with neurodevelopmental delay and that the reduction is both clinically important and statistically significant.
