Other Health Technology Assessments Effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of computer and other electronic aids for smoking cessation: a systematic review and network meta-analysis Chen, Y et al. This report found that computer and other electronic aids increase the likelihood of smoking cessation compared with no intervention or generic self-help materials, but the effect is small and does not appear to vary with respect to mode of delivery and concurrent non-electronic co-interventions. Health Technol Assess 2012;16(38) The use of MElatonin in children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders and impaired Sleep: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel study (MENDS) Appleton, R et al. This study found that melatonin increases total sleep time in children with neurodevelopmental delay but that the increase is not clinically worthwhile and that melatonin is effective in reducing sleep-onset latency in children with neurodevelopmental delay and that the reduction is both clinically important and statistically significant. This Cochrane review on the impact of cranberries (juice, powder or other form) on urinary infections has been updated to include 14 additional studies.
