The designation of the post is subject to change on statute amendment from Lecturer/Reader to Assistant Professor/Associate Professor. Good Academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at Masters Degree level in the relevent subject from an Indian University or an equivalent Degree from a Foreign University. Note: 1 Candidates besides fulfilling the above qualifications should have cleared the eligibiliy test for Lectureship conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar tests accredited by the UGC. However, the candidates who have Ph.D Degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET qualifications. Note: 2 A relaxation of 5% marks at Masters level is allowed to the following categories SC/ST Candidates Ph.D Degree holders who have passed their Masters Degree prior to 19.09.1991 Age: Not more than 40 years as on 01.01.2012. The usual relaxation in the upper age limit shall be allowed in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. Relaxation in the upper age limit may also be allowed in the case of persons already in the teaching service of the University. The relaxation in upper age limit contemplated above is also applicable to the qualified teachers of affiliated colleges and UGC qualified technical staff (non-teaching) of the University Service who are above the age of 40. Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. Candidates from outside the University System in addition shall also possess at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at the Masters Degree Level. Eight years experience of teaching and / or research including upto 3 years for research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational renovation, design of new courses and curricula. Candidates from outside the University system means candidates working in institutions other than colleges and Universities, deemed Universities and institutions which are imparting education beyond +12 schooling. Age: Not more than 50 years as on 01.01.2012 The usual relaxation in the upper age limit shall be allowed in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. Relaxation in the upper age limit may also be allowed in the case of persons already in the teaching service of the University. The relaxation in upper age limit contemplated above is also applicable to the qualified teachers of affiliated colleges and UGC qualified technical staff (non-teaching) of the University Service who are above the age of 50. Cost of Application form Rs. 350/Registration Fee Rs. 500/- (Rs. 125/- for SC/ST)

The prescribed application form and other details can be downloaded from the website of the University ( www.keralauniversity.ac.in). Only downloaded applications will be accepted.Such applications will be entertained only if the candidates have remitted the cost of application form along with the Registration fee. Mode of remittance: Cost of application form and Registration fee be remitted by DD drawn on State Bank of Travancore / District Co-operative Bank, in favour of The Finance Officer, University of Kerala payable at State Bank of Travancore Service Branch, Thiruvananthapuram and State Co-operative Bank, Head Office Branch, Thiruvananthapuram respectively. For all the remittances made by DD, an amount of Rs. 10/- should be remitted in addition. Postal Orders, Money Orders, Cheques and DDs from other Banks and DD drawn on Kariavattom Branch will not be accepted. Candidates residing outside the state may however send DDs drawn on State Bank of India in favour of The Finance Officer, University of Kerala payable at State Bank of India, Main Branch, Thiruvananthapuram. Remittance towards the cost of application forms and Registration fee will also be accepted in cash by chalan at the Kerala University Cash Counter, University Buildings, Thiruvananthapuram and also at the Friends Counters (Jana Sevana Kendram) at Palayam. Completed application along with DD/Chalan for prescribed cost of application form and registration fee, copies of certificates, testimonials, etc. duly attested by a Gazetted Officer, should reach the Deputy Registrar (Admn.III) University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram 695 034 on or before 10.10.2012.
Candidates who are employed should forward their application through proper channel.

Candidates who have passed their qualifying examinations from Universities other than University of Kerala should furnish an eligibility certificate obtained from the University of Kerala, alongwith their application.
Note: OBC candidates have to produce the certificate that they do not belong to the Creamy Layer. Candidates should appear for interview at

Thiruvananthapuram at their own expense.
