MANAGEMENT

Hteedan Wharves development project is financed and implemented by Shwe Nar Wah Co. Ltd. The management and operations of Hteedan Wharves are entrusted to its sister company, Asia World Port Management Co. Ltd (AWPM). Both Shwe Nar Wah Co. Ltd and Asia World Port Management Co. Ltd are subsidiary companies of Asia World Company Limited, a well-diversified group company in Myanmar.

LOCATION OF HTEEDAN WHARVES

Located upstream of the Yangon River, about 47 miles away from the Pilot Station. Terminal facilities lie at upstream end of Ahlone Wharves, managed and operated by Asia World Port Management Co. Ltd.

YANGON RIVER ESTUARY

Sea access channel: 32 km long between port and river mouth near Elephant Point. Port is accessible to ships of LOA 167 metres.

AWPT

Permissible draft around 9 metres, controlled by available depths at the Inner and Outer Bars. Entry into and exit from the harbour is subject to the tidal conditions, generally timing with high tides to enable cross Inner and Outer bars.

HTEEDAN WHARVES DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (Project Components)

Construction of Bulk Oil Terminal with associated facilities: Total jetty length 120 metres (394 feet). Construction of Hteedan Wharf No. 1 with container handling facilities: Total wharf length 366 metres (1,200 feet); land area 13.911 acres. Construction of Hteedan Wharf No. 2 associated with bulk and multipurpose facilities: Total wharf length 274 metres (900 feet); land area 9.282 acres.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT

The project is to be developed on BOT basis as permitted by the Myanmar Investment Commission, under the Myanmar Citizens Investment Law. The project development is divided into two phases.

The first phase development includes the construction of the Bulk Oil Terminal with associated facilities and No. 1 Hteedan Wharf with container handling facilities.
The construction of No. 2 Hteedan Wharf with bulk and multi-purpose facilities is to be carried out as the second phase development project.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT

The BOT agreement for the implementation of Hteedan Wharves development project was signed on 11 October 2010 between Shwe Nar Wah Co. Ltd and Myanmar Economic Corporation (the land owner). Investment amount: USD 50 million and Kyat 36.75 billion for the first phase project; USD 29.075 million and Kyat 11.942 billion for the second phase project. Construction period: 6 months for pre-engineering work, 36 months for the construction of first phase project and 30 months after the completion of the first phase for the construction of second phase project. The concession period: 30 years lease, with the option to extend additional 15 years to be approved by the Government.

CONSTRUCTION OF BULK OIL TERMINAL

Terminal construction carried out before contract signing with mutual agreement between contracting parties. The terminal is constructed at the upstream side of Ahlone Wharf to accommodate 6,000 DWT bulk oil vessels with maximum LOA of 120 metres.

Open-piled marginal quay with raking (inclined ) piles typical cross section: total quay length 366 metres (1,200 feet )

The wharf is constructed after dismantling the old Hteedan Rice Wharf.

COMMISSIONING OF 600 FEET WHARF

The first 600 feet (183 metres) portion of No. 1 Hteedan Wharf was commissioned into general cargo handling service on 11 November 2011. The soft opening ceremony was held on that day to mark the berthing of the first general cargo vessel, Platinum Jade carrying 10,800 tons of cement.
