First of all we want to give thanks to Almighty Allah for giving us the opportunity to complete this assignment. After that we would like to express our gratitude to our teacher Mr. Shahadat Hossain Lecturer, Dept. of Business Administration for his generous and day to day suggestion. His advice helped us a lot to prepare a complete assignment and he never hesitate to give us valuable time while preparing the assignment whenever we needed.

We like to give thanks especially to our friends and many individuals, for their enthusiastic encouragements and helps during the preparation of this report us by sharing ideas regarding this subject and for their assistance in typing and proof reading this manuscript. Working on the organization we came to know the training and development which are use here. Though it is a non profitable organization, it has proved itself in the related industry as a major competitor. In this report we have followed the guidelines provided by the teacher.

ACI was established as the subsidiary of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) in the then East Pakistan in 1968. After independence the company has been incorporated in Bangladesh on the 24th of January 1973 as ICI Bangladesh Manufacturers Limited and also as Public Limited Company. This Company also obtained listing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on 28 December, 1976 and its first trading of shares took place on 9 March, 1994. Later on 5 May, 1992, ICI plc divested 70% of its shareholding to local management. Subsequently the company was registered in the name of Advanced Chemical Industries Limited. Listing with Chittagong Stock Exchange was made on 22 October 1995. Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) Limited is one of the leading conglomerates in Bangladesh, with a multinational heritage. The company has diversified into three major businesses. In this report the Overall work of the CSR will be focused and described. To know the details of the company we were collected information and gathered with the help of the internet. ACI is the organization where actually the B.E activities are applied with a huge effort, and the outcome is also very satisfying.

INTRODUCTION
With the increase in the size and complexity of organization, man has become the most important factor in organization. Organization needs people as owners, employees, and consumers. Organizations need people to make them operated. Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) Limited is one of the leading conglomerates in Bangladesh, with a multinational heritage. They are very much hardworking in their CSR activities & Social Responsibility is a top priority for every individual at ACI. Distribution Network
The company maintains strategically located sales centers in nineteen different locations across the country. It has developed an advanced distribution system through its skilled and trained manpower and a large fleet over eighty vehicles. The distribution system is fully equipped for handling continuing volume of diverse range of products from the various businesses. The company's distribution centers are highly streamlined, computerized and automated. We are capable of maintaining a cold chain for some specialized range of products such as vaccines and insulin. The combination of this advanced function and multidimensional capabilities made it possible to handle hundreds of products efficiently.

BUSINESS UNITS
Pharmaceuticals ACI carries the legacy of ICI- world renowned British Multinational in providing the people of Bangladesh with quality medicines and healthcare products. Its state-of-the art pharmaceutical plant represents Bangladesh's quest for a truly world class manufacturing facility. ACI's rich heritage leads to innovative and higher value added formulations. The comprehensive product range of ACI pharmaceuticals include products from all major therapeutic classes and in various dosage forms like tablet, capsule, dry powder, liquid, cream, gel, ointment, ophthalmic and injectable. ACI Pharma also has state of the art plant on Novel Drug Delivery System (NDDS). It produces world class Modified Release drug and medicine to cater the requirement of pharmaceutical manufacturer of domestic and international market. It exports high quality pharmaceuticals to a good number of countries of Asia, Africa & South America. ACI also represents the world renowned product range of Colgate, Nivea, Tetley, Godrej & Dabur in Bangladesh through distribution and forming joint ventures. Agribusinesses ACI Agribusiness is the largest integrator in Bangladesh in Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries and deals with Crop Protection, Seed, Fertilizer, Agrimachineries, and Animal Health products. These businesses have glorified presence in Bangladesh. CC & PH supplies crop protection chemicals, Seed supplies Hybrid Rice, vegetable and Maize seeds, Fertilizer Supplies Micronutrient and Foiler fertilizer, Agrimachineries supplies Tractors, Power Tiller and Harvester and Animal Health supplies high quality Nutritional, Veterinary and Poultry medicines and vaccines. ACI is committed to maintain the harmonious balance of our eco-system and therefore constantly seeks ways to manufacture and produce products in an eco-friendly manner so that the balance of nature remains undisturbed and the environment remains sustainable. In pursuit of this goal, ACI will

Comply fully with all local and national environmental regulations. Conserve natural resources like water and energy for sustainable development, and adopt environmentally safe processes. Ensure appropriate treatment of all effluents prior to discharge, to prevent pollution or degradation of environment. Ensure appropriate communication and cooperate with internal and external interested parties on environmental issues. Create awareness on environmental issues among our employees and suppliers. Adopt modern waste management technology.

Global Compact Endorsement


The ACI group has consistently demonstrated its commitment towards its employees and the environment over the years. It has been recognized as the practitioner and promoter of socially responsible business behaviour. To take this commitment even further, ACI has endorsed the Principles of Global Compact on August 18, 2003. The Global Compact is a remarkable initiative sponsored by the United Nations Secretary General Koffi Annan. It is based on a very simple notion: whether or not required by law, corporations should enforce basic human rights and accepted labour and

BUSINESS ETHICS- CSR REPORT ON ACI environmental standards in all their business activities, to counterbalance possible negative effects of globalization. The compact calls on companies to embrace the ten universal principles in the key areas of human rights, labour standards and the environment.

In pursuit of this goal, ACI will Comply fully with all local and national environmental regulations. Environment 7. To support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges. 8. To undertake initiative to promote greater environmental responsibility. 9. To encourage the diffusion of environmentally friendly technology. Anti-Corruption 10. To work against all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery.

As a continuous support to the Global Compact initiative, we have undertaken certain actions which will help us to get more aligned with Global Compact..

CONCLUSION
ACI pledges to keep all its employees, customers, shareholders and suppliers regularly informed about the compact and the companys initiatives to uphold the principles The Consumer Brands Division boasts in having an unequivocal presence in consumers' heart with the market leading brands like ACI Aerosol, Savlon, ACI Mosquito Coil & ACI Pure Spices and Flour. With close to 80% market share in own categories, ACI Aerosol and Savlon are the persistent performers in keeping the household clean and free from germs and harmful insects. The ACI mosquito coil has also emerged as a formidable opponent to both the mosquito and the competition, by providing effective and affordable solution to the conscious people of Bangladesh. A sound mind goes with a sound body-ACI believes in this age old proverb and our young generation needs to grow up with healthy physique and sound mind who will lead the nation in future. With this belief, ACI has entered in to the commodity food business with ACI Pure Brand. The aim is to provide purest of the food products to Bangladeshi consumers at affordable price for which ACI has invested in very large scale in state of the art manufacturing facilities for daily kitchen essentials like vacuum evaporated edible Salt, Spices and Flour. The products are delighting the consumers by providing 100% dirt free, pure and natural food ingredients which can compete against any international products. BUSINESS ETHICS- CSR REPORT ON ACI ACI is significantly contributing to national food security through its Agribusinesses division, which is the leading agricultural integrator of the country. ACI Agribusinesses is providing complete solution to the farmers need. This division has five separate SBUs. They are Seeds, Fertilizer, Motors, Crop Care & Public Health, and Animal Health. Farmers have developed confidence in our products for quality and economics. Farmers have also come to expect proper knowledge based service from our field force.
