As everyone is aware, new parking passes were delivered to all residents on Friday, November 2nd, 2012. The parking policy was also attached and is now in effect. Please make sure that you familiarize yourself with this policy. The duplicate copy (yellow) must be placed in the suggestion box found in the mailroom immediately after placing the white copy in clear view on the dash of the visiting vehicle. All visitor passes must be completely filled out to be valid and must not exceed seven (7) day duration. Invalid permits may be ticketed by Calgary Parking Authority.

Building Updates
Entrance key problems Some residents are experiencing problems with the new keys. Please turn the key counter clockwise (to your left) and please do not pull the door open with just the key as it puts it out of alignment causing great problems. Hold onto the door handle to open the door. Keep in mind that every time we have to call for service we are charged and this comes out of our monthly condo fees, an expense that can be avoided if residents use the proper method to open the doors. Heating Fall is here and we will soon be turning our heat on, if you havent done so already. We remind all residents that you need to exercise your thermostat; this means that once a week, you should raise the thermostat to the highest level until it starts getting warm to make sure that its working properly. This will not take long. Once you feel the heat come from your register, turn it back down to 20. Please keep in mind that you must never put your thermostat lower than 20 because this is hot water heat and it could freeze if kept any lower. This applies for all seasons. Garbage garage Please remember to lock the garbage garage door when you leave by pressing the SCHLAGE button then turning the dial clockwise (to the right). This will assure us that the door will not be opened by transients or animals. Approximately 2 months ago, a badger was observed on our premises. He went around to several first floor suites trying to open the screen doors and he did succeed with one but fortunately the patio door was closed. This could have been a very serious problem if he got into the suite so make sure to keep your doors locked for safety and security reasons. If the badger got into the garbage garage he could have caused a huge mess not forgetting the danger to a resident walking in on him.

NOW AT CHAPARRAL POINTE...

Improvement in recycling We now have a recycling bin in our garbage garage that will take all recyclables except for glass. This should cut down on the amount of solid waste we are generating. Please make sure to put all of your recyclables in the proper bin.

FOOD BANK Once again Chaparral Pointe residents did a great job contributing to the Veterans Food Bank drive. 7 boxes were delivered by volunteers to the 285th Legion on Horton Rd. Thank you for your generous contribution.

Unless otherwise stated, all condo functions are for adults only.

This building would not be the same without the work of our volunteers. We would like to publicly thank all of the residents that helped out with grounds work during the summer. Weeding and pruning happened during 2 separate occasions. 4 hours of hard work on both days made a big difference to our grounds. Some residents also took it upon themselves to go out occasionally and do some weeding and enjoy the beautiful weather. So thank you to all of you that contributed to the beautification of our grounds.
