The Hasseblad cameras where the ones responsible for the amazing pictures the Apollo missions brought back from the moon. These modified cameras where fitted with Kodak magazines that allow them 200 black and white or 160 color pictures. Some time ago, designer Ken L. West made available an incredible paper Apollo astronauts model (it can be found and purchased online on www.ecardmodels.com). I bought the model and build it. It sparked my curiosity on the cameras that were used in the Apollo missions. I found some information and decided to modify the original design to add more details that could add more history and maybe ignite some more curiosity on others. I added some details as the signs the camera had to remind the astronauts of removing the dark slide. The dark slide was a slide that protected the magazine before it was installed. The addition of the reseau plate (that produced the crosses in the Apollo images) made impossible to insert the magazine with the dark slide on, so it had to be removed before installing it (the astronauts advanced the magazine before mounting it to the camera and before removing it too).
I also added the other instructions that were added to the camera. This informed the astronaut on what diaphragm aperture to use by the place they were. (HCEX: High-Speed Color Exterior)
I also made the magazine, Magazine S, that was the one carried to the surface. All the images from that magazine can be found here: www.lpi.usra.edu/resources/apollo/catalog/70mm/magazine/?40
