Cyber Education Benefit: School Administrators Cyber Education is a solution that will enhance the school-based management through:

Empowerment and decentralization through connectivity Cyber Ed is a satellite-based distance education program which provides real-time interactivity to public schools. The project will link all DepEd administrative units in the country, including the central office, 17 regional offices, 187 division offices and 37,792 public schools. Efficient Management Information System and Cost-effective monitoring and internal control system Through Cyber Ed, DepEd sees an improvement in the quality and efficiency of management information systems. Data and reports will be received at a faster rate, monitoring can be done even without leaving the office, and issues can be addressed almost immediately Teachers Cyber Ed will enhance the capability of DepEd to deliver teacher training to close to half a million public school teachers nationwide. Unlimited access to professional development materials Cyber ed will bring our teachers from all over the country closer to quality teacher training activities and professional development materials. We will ensure that they will be provided the much needed training they need to significantly improve teaching and student learning, no matter where they are. Frequent in-school virtual training from certified experts and countrywide collaborative learning and courseware development Cyber Ed will be able to ease the limitations of the cascading model for teacher training currently being utilized. Through Cyber Ed, teachers will be able to receive training from the best instructors first hand. Under the Cyber Ed Project, Virtual Training Studios will be created to allow DepEd officials and training experts to interact directly with DepEds 470,004 public school teachers. These studios will allow frequent direct professional development sessions for the teachers. Computer-based training materials and standby Training Support Experts will also be available to supplement live training broadcasts. Also, teachers will no longer have to travel long distances to gain access to training since these will now be available at the school level. Meanwhile, the national teachers will be the ones in-charge in ensuring the accuracy of the content. Thus, classroom teachers will have more time to focus on follow-up activities that will reinforce learning. Students Cyber Ed is the technology that will enable the Department to deliver high quality education to our students and outof-school youth even in the remotest areas of the country. With the technology available through Cyber Ed, students will be exposed to more interesting and activity-based learning. The vast world of information will also be available to them for research and further learning purposes. Cyber Ed will also focus on ensuring that every child will be a reader by Grade 3 by providing them with sufficient reading materials downloadable from the system.

Those in the far-flung areas will benefit from the technology since they will be given access to the best teachers and best resource materials. The Cyber Ed Project uses satellite technology to provide an efficient and cost-effective solution to the need to deliver educational services to public elementary and secondary schools throughout the country. Under this project, a total of 37,794 schools or 90% of all public schools nationwide will be connected in the next three years. These schools will receive live broadcasts featuring lectures and presentations from master teachers as well as coursewares on demand and other valuable resource materials.
