Introduction
Attendance Management System is an Enterprise resource planning developed for daily student attendance in our university. If facilitates to access the attendance information of a particular student in a particular class. The information is sorted by the administrator, which will be provided by the concerned staff for that particular class. Since ages, attendance system has remained one of the most important systems for evaluating the working time of students in any college or university. In short, this project is used to mark the number of days present/absent in any academic year of students in a college, etc. The attendance information is provided to the HOD by the concerned staff for a particular class and subject. The software system also helps in evaluating the examination eligibility criteria for a student in the sense that only those students with attendance above 75% are allowed to be eligible for the semester exams. Students also have access to view their attendance. In this the teachers engaging different classes are required to submit the attendance of the students present in their class regularly. Teachers will submit their attendance through this Student Attendance Management System.

2. Software Requirment Specification 2.1. Introduction

A Software Requirements Specification (SRS) a requirements specification for a software system is a complete description of the behavior of a system to be developed and may include a set of use cases that describe interactions the users will have with the software. In addition it also contains non-functional requirements. Non-functional requirements impose constraints on the design or implementation (such as performance engineering requirements, quality standards, or design constraints). The software requirements specification document enlists all necessary requirements for project development. To derive the requirements we need to have clear and thorough understanding of the products to be developed. This is prepared after detailed communications with project team and the customer. A general organization of an SRS is as follows

2.1.1. Purpose
The purpose of developing attendance management system is to computerized the tradition way of taking attendance. Another purpose for developing this software is to generate the report automatically at the end of the session or in the between of the session. The purpose of attendance system is to record student attendance at a particular class of department, which is essential when paying workers at an hourly rate. Traditionally a time and attendance systems allowed the employee to clock in or out of work by punching or stamping a card inserted into a machine. This recorded the relevant time in/out information as they arrived and left work.

2.1.2. Scope
The scope of the project is the system on which the software is installed, i.e. the project is developed as a desktop application, and it will work for a particular institute. But later on the project can be modified to operate it online.
