LDP

Ldp is a graphical user interface (GUI)-based, Windows Explorerlike tool with a scope pane on the left that is used for navigating through the Active Directory namespace, and a details pane on the right that is used for displaying the results of the LDAP operations. Any text that is displayed in the details pane can be selected with the mouse and copied to the Clipboard. LDP is built into Windows Server 2008. It is available if we have the AD DS server role installed. Performs operations such as connect, bind, search, modify, add, delete against any Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)-compatible directory, such as Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). Ldp is an LDAP client that you use to view objects that are stored in AD DS along with their metadata, such as security descriptors and replication metadata. To start ldp, click Start, click Run, type ldp and then click accept.

SEE THE TREE SHAPED STRUCTURE For this we went to the tab view and select the option tree

Now once we have selected the tree view, we will get a window, where we have to fill in the data, to connect to the corresponding domain, having done this, click on accept

As we have been successful if we are deploying the tree as before on the left side of the screen, we will see to the right that over which we have double-clicked:

TESTS ON LDP LDAP UBUNTU

SEARCH WITH LDP To search, both objects and organizational units, we will examine the tab and select search.

In the window that appears, you have to specify the object you want to search and that scope, as we're going to find where we left it in base area and we have to get hold of the OU, click on run

And as we see the search is performed and we find an entry, the search was successful

WE CHECKED But still perform the check in Windows Server 2008 with LDP

We saw also in Ubuntu, with the following command: ldapsearch -xLLL -b "uid=javier,ou=asir2,ou=asir,dc=ribera,dc=com" And as we see it is so, the changes have been made correctly
